Having such short stature, young Evelyn's body is slightly distorted. Her thighs and breasts seem too large for her height, yet she has slender arms and waist. Some may find it attractive, but it really is a nuisance finding clothes that fit her properly. ----Likes:
- Reading and drawing
- Handsome men
- Practicing the art of sword combat
- Drinking whenever she gets the chance
- Bad hygiene
- Greedy people
- Being treated like a child and being told what to do
- The Headless Horseman
- To one day leave Sleepy Hollow and escape her demons
- Become a taller, more desirable woman
- To find a love that would last a lifetime
- To make her father disappointed
- To fall victim to the Horseman's tyranny
- Her father's imminent passing
Evelyn is a strange creature indeed; while the proper ladies of the village buy pretty dresses and flutter their lashes at men, this young girl spends her free time getting dirty. May that be wrestling with the local boys, working diligently to restore her fatherís old shop, or simply just slipping around the shadows of town, robbing wallets from coat pockets. Regardless of how she may act, she longs to be flirtatious, pretty, wholesome girl that she should be. She may seem as though she is happy, usually many insecurities dwell in the back of her mind. Maybe one day she can sort through herself and find her true maturities, but she has too many other things to worry about on her mind.
This young girl is quite busy. Every day Evelyn works on perfecting that art of welding weapons for the villagers. It is not her greatest skill by far, nearly breaking or making warped products most every time. The only way she can support herself is by sneaking around when the sun begins to descend. That is when most of the townsfolk are about; dashing home before the night falls and the Horseman comes out for his search. Because of this, it is the perfect time to grab coin purses and other rarities while safety is the only thought in their minds. But of course, it is dangerous. Living a little ways away from the townís center, most nights she must sprint home and makes it back just in time to hear the thundering hoofs coming from the Western Woods.
Regardless of her poor upbringing, Evelyn has maintained sturdy study habits courtesy of the many books she had looted. She reads nearly every night, trying to capture every bit of knowledge she can. In result, her attitude is somewhat arrogant and she usually boasts to seek attention. She may have a sharp tongue a witty remarks, but usually she know what times are inappropriate to do so. Living with only men through her life made it easy to yield to a manís scorn.
Born and raised in the cursed town of Sleep Hollow ----Occupation:
Father: Jonathon Blackthorne ;; Mother: Elizabeth Blackthorne [deceased] ----Siblings:
Brother: Jackson Blackthorne [twenty-two] ----Other:
Nearly no other relatives that she is aware of ----History:
Evelyn Blackthorne was born into a loving family with parents young and ripe with the hope of a good country life. Only a couple years prior to her birth, Evelynís mother and father moved from the bustling city of Manhattan in search of a simple life to raise a good family. There, Jonathon Blackthorne began his own business as a blacksmith in a tiny town called Sleepy Hollow. It was a quaint place, and the people were kind and prosperous. Only until nightfall did they realize the horror that hid in the depths of the forest. Her mother and father argued, but decided to stay since their funds had dried up and they could not afford to move. That was the familyís greatest mistake.
In her few years she has been alive, young Evelyn learned to cope with the many hardships of life. At the age of six, Elizabeth, her mother, fell ill and soon died from tuberculosis. Although there was nothing that none of them could have done, Jonathon took the death of his wife relentlessly. His health and business began to suffer, now that he found no motivation to live for. That was when Evelyn began following in her brotherís footsteps. Though he was five years older, Jackson patiently taught his young sister how to become strong and brave like a man. They grew close and shared a bond as strong as those of faithful lovers. And then one day he was gone. He had grown tired of their fatherís lingering depression and left without even a word of goodbye. Evelyn was twelve.
Only a mere year later, Jonathon became blind and sickly, unable to even leave his bed or talk above a whisper. That was when she knew she had to be brave and support the shamble of a family the best she could. With no skill as a blacksmith, her fatherís business soon became nothing more than a ruddy old cabin that was only vacated by rats. Evelyn tried other honest ways of living, but the only job anyone would offer her was that of a whore in south Tarrytown. So the only option left to make was to become a thief, and after a few years of doing it, she became quite the professional. Nowadays, Evelyn still maintains their home in hopes that her brother will one day return.
