----Personality:

Like all young common women, Elizabeth knows her place in this world. She is the daughter of an innkeeper and a scullery maid and nothing more. Dreams of rising above her station are mere fanciful flickers in her imagination that she does not ever dwell upon for more than a moment. Elizabeth has little time for daydreaming anyways; for there is always work to be done around the inn and her mother with give her a slap upside the head if she catches her dawdling.

Elizabeth is very perceptive to her surroundings and the feelings of others as well as herself. She relies on her intuition to tell her if something isn't right or maybe out of place. She can become rather assertive and brazen with her actions and words depending upon the situation. Brawling in her family's tavern will earn an ice cold bucket of water dumped over your head, giving her an unsolicited grope might earn you a kick in the pants or a grope yourself, and stealing will get you humiliated in front of the entire pub.

On the rare occasion that Beth might have a few moments peace or perhaps a day of freedom you will mostly likely find her strolling down the village roads, wandering the markets, or perhaps absorbing the beauty of the dark tree canopies in the woods. Friends are a fair few and far in between for Elizabeth, but it hardly bothers her. She would rather spend her leisure time watching the pheasants fly in the dusky meadow or listen to the sounds of the nature surrounding her than to keep company with a gaggle of immature young ladies.

Beth is rather amiable and quite confident in herself and her abilities. Their usual patrons find her to be sweet-tempered and sociable. She is never insincere, but is sometimes pessimistic. If she knows the end is near, she is not going to cry for prince charming on his white horse to come rescue her. It is what it is, and there are some things you just can't change. Not to say that some things aren't worth fighting for, but that there comes a time when you have to be realistic about certain things. If the inn goes up in flames, she cannot just rely on prayer to save their home.

----History:

Elizabeth's parents met about twenty years ago while Deborah worked as a maid at Joseph's father's inn. They were afraid that Deborah would be dismissed for being a distraction to Joseph and his work. Yet, they carried on their secret romance until Deborah became pregnant with Elizabeth. Joseph's family was not keen on him having a bastard child so the families gave the pair their blessing and the two were married. It wasn't until Joseph's father died that he became owner of The Dirty Barrel Tavern & Inn.

Elizabeth Brennan was born on a blustery, Autumn evening nineteen years ago to Joseph and Deborah Brennan. She was the first of three daughters born to the Brennan family. Her childhood was merry and was spent playing with her sisters, helping her mother with little chores, and learning about the world. The girl's lives were carefree and jovial up until one cruel Winter when the entire family became sick with influenza. Danielle the youngest, suffered the worst and the longest from the sickness and died when her fever would not break.

The family was full of heartache for the loss of their youngest daughter. It was the Winter that the little ten year old Elizabeth grew up. She knew then on that not all the prayers in the land could save you, no matter how hard you prayed. The family solemnity and sorrow faded in the years to come, but they would never be the same. Deborah constantly coddled Sarah and would break into tears should the next littlest even do so much as sneeze. Meanwhile, Beth grew older and took on more chores and learned to enjoy the days she had and to accept what fate might one day bring; death.

Now having blossomed into a lovely young woman, Elizabeth spends her days working at her father's inn. Some days she spends as a barmaid serving the patrons and entertaining the weary travelers, and others she helps her mother with the cooking and the wash, or her sister clean the rooms and tend to their garden and crops. Her family is the most important to her, but some days she doesn't even want to be around them, especially when her mother starts fussing over her when she stubs her toe.
