Planting his feet upon the dock Jake looked back to see his uncle for the last time. His uncle had raised one arm as high as he could and waved it casually, Jake smiled and did the same as he turned toward the bay. The area was filled with pirate ships, few larger than others, and many decorated in different fashions. Pirate captians and crew members flooded the area, it was like they were about to have a festival of some sort.

Curious, Jake walked up to a hooded stranger - who's back was facing him - and tapped their shoulder.

Cassarah looked about in awe. She couldn't believe how many pirate ships there was. The place was packed with numerous colors and shapes. Pirate crews swamped the area like ants on a dirt mound that had been trampled on. Many of them were scared from fights and punishments and some looked about starved to death.

The sun harshly beat on the back of her hooded cloak. She regretted getting the cloak in the color black, but at least it kept her face shaded from the burning rays.
Finally she approached the dock; the water seemed to be sparkling with enthusiasm. She stared at the water for a moment and turned towards the massive crowd. But before she could take a step, someone tapped her shoulder.

She paused for a moment wondering if this was another threat and slowly turned to face the person standing behind her. The first thing she noticed was his scarlet hair glowing in the sunlight. His eyes were as blue as the ocean and the scar upon the side of his neck looked deep.

"May I help you?" She asked tensely.

Unexpectedly, the hooded stranger was in fact a girl. Attractive at that, but why was she wearing such a heavy cloak with the hood resting on her head? Her green eyes were defensive and tense as she waited for his answer.

"You're new here, aren't you?" Jake tried to sound as casual as he could; trying to hint that he was not to be afraid off. "You look like you've come a far off place. Where might you be from? If you don't mind me asking." He hoped she wasn't a touchy person. She looked like the kind you don't want to anger.

Ocean waves crashed into the dock, spraying water and salt into the air. The sound was peaceful and it calmed Jack's nerves. Unfortunately, it wasn't helping much since she was making him feel nervous.

Cassarah couldn't believe the way he was eyeing her the way he was. She gave a disgusted look and focused on the soft waves. "New or not, it’s none of you business pirate." she glanced at the guy and scoured at him.

Why did he want to know so much about her? She didn't care, she was only passing through and she knew she had to leave soon anyway. "I come from a place that you don't and that's all you need to know. And yes, I do mind you asking." She scoured at him again and began to walk away.

Jake couldn't believe this. She was really walking away. He puzzled over what all he had said, and couldn't find anything that was offensive.

"Wait!" he shouted. "Where are you going? Why don't you want to stay?"
He knew there was something valuable in her. And whatever the value, he could not afford to let it go.

He reached for her arm and gripped it tightly. He began to yank until her body tensed again.

Cassarah grew tired of his shouting and questioning but she continued on, tuning him out so she could no longer hear him. Suddenly something gripped her arm. She halted and angrily looked over her shoulder to find the idiot trying to keep her from leaving.

She smirked, "Big mistake, idiot." And a long, silver blade shot out her arm, slicing his palm wide open. Crimson blood streamed down her blade and out of his hand to the ground beneath them. "Let's see you try that again." she laughed. "If you do, you might get more than a mere gash." She laughed again and turned her back to him eager to leave the area.

Her sudden smirk made him gulp. His eyes were locked in her burning eyes. Suddenly pain shot through his hand. He hissed as he yanked his hand away from the cause. She laughed as she spoke, but all he was just worried about the bloody blade that stuck out of her arm.

"Are you ok...wait that's apart of you isn't it? What...What are you?"

She was definatly valuable, and that value he disired. She definatly wasn't human, he had to find out what she was. He glanced down at his bleeding hand again to see how much damage was done, which looked pretty bad. He looked up to find her laughing and turning away.

"Why are you in such a hurry? Look I'm sorry for what offensive things I've said, but I've got to know your name. If I can't have that, at least allow me to travel with you. Its not safe to travel alone, besides I can be quite useful." he said as he followed behind her.
