Welcome to BLACK HOLE SUN ``. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Point one. If you're gonna have a suggestions thread, but not listen to the suggestions posted in it is there really any point in having this other than to boost your post count?
Point two. In your rules you state that you don't want to see cyber bullying. If I'm not mistaken bullying is classed as abusive behaviour. Calling someone dumb is abusive. And by the way, I'm Caligo-go of Alohomora Heart and I can assure you I'm not dumb, I'm just not going to spend that extra 30-45 seconds filling out a pointless form when I could be advertising on another less complicated site with much nicer admins.
Point three. We have brought this to your suggestions thread in order to help you see the stand point of a guest who could become a member. If there are two people out there who think you are rude then it means that's two less members. For a forum so focussed on growing you're not doing much to help your image.
Point four. We weren't the only people to have an issue with this advertising rule, your cbox alone holds proof of that from a guest named 'Red'.
Point five. You have rules but you're apparantly not interested in following them. You say treat others how you want to be treated, but then bring yourself to our cbox and 'tell me off'. Your cbox has also been used by yourself today to have a bitch/rant at guests who are possible members by telling them they can't use proper spelling/grammar and also telling them their lazy. Your other guests read this, do you really think they're going to sign up if they think the main admin is that much of a bitch to people? HELL TO THE NO, they will avoid you like the plague.
You need to stop taking things so personally, you also need to stop being so horrible to the people who visit your site. They may come and go but they may also be potential members and no matter how hard you worked to create the site that's all you've done is created a site. It's the members who MAKE a site and right now you're not doing yourself any favours in recruiting members.

hi, so, i'm the other admin here! i'm not totally sure what all happened here as i wasn't on at the time, but from what i can gather i did want to say a few things, if that's all right?
i'm very sorry for all the inconvenience and offensive words, first off. it wasn't right for nikki to use insulting terms, although its not my place to apologize for her. as the other staff, though, i guess i'd like to apologize on behalf of black hole sun? i definitely appreciate the suggestions and hearing what happened, and i'd like to work on improving this site and it being a lot friendlier and active.
as for the advertising bit, i'd like to hear if there's other suggestions on how to go about that, but i'd have to say that for a resource site that having everyone fill out forms is best. it helps us to know where to place the adverts / who we need to link back to and keep things organized -- and organization is a plus (at least in my book!). we get a lot more adverts than other sites tend to get, from my perception of resource sites, and i know i've seen some other sites of the same genre as us also seem to use forms. it helps us to know what needs to be linked back to and such, especially when there's a good number of people in charge of the advertising. if you have a suggestion to better this method i'd love to hear it, and i'll work with the rest of the staff to improve it, for sure. (:
I won't go into great detail about what happened because for all I'm posting these suggestions here I don't want to bring drama to a board.
As for suggestions for the advertising, Caution doesn't ask for a template but instead asks that you post what software your board is on in the topic description, basically you could cover everything you need to sort a topic in the topic description. Ask guests to post the type, forum software and whether it's a link back or first post and you'll see the numbers posting on your site soar.
For example
Topic description of a harry potter roleplay linking first on IF
HP RP [FL] [IF]
Simple and it also saves you reading a million templates.

thanks! drama certainly is no fun. dx haha.
and that is very true, i forgot caution did that. i'll definitely post it in the staff board for discussion and see what everyone else thinks about it. (: personally i don't think its a bad idea, but obviously i can't decide.
thank you very much for all the suggestions, and please feel free to suggest more if you have other ideas! i'm totally all about making this site better, and like you said, that's all dependent on what our members / potential members want to see happen here.
