I have a collection of quotes that I would like to share, not sure if I'll post a new one everyday, but I'll add until I run out. I'll begin with my favorite quote.

“We were never supposed to allow the world (culture or society) to call the shots for the church! In fact, the two should be in direct conflict with each other.” Milt Rodriguez

"The church as we know it today seems a million miles from the New Testament church. That may be a great generalization, but I will stand on it. There is a gulf between our average Christianity and the church of New Testament that makes the Grand Canyon look like a cavity in someone's tooth." Leonard Ravenhill

"We must have a new reformation. There must come a violent break with the irresponsible, amusement-mad paganized pseudo-religion which passes today for the faith of Christ and which is being spread all over the world by unspiritual men employing unscriptural methods to achieve their ends." A.W. Tozer

As the apostle says to Timothy, so also he says to every-one, ‘Give yourself to reading.’ He who will not use the thoughts of other men’s brains proves that he has no brains of his own... Charles Spurgeon

“The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers” M. Scott Peck

"Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant" Jesus Christ

God's house is not a denomination, it is not a network, it is not a building and it is not an organization. It is Christ Himself in undivided oneness found in all those in whom He really dwells. T. Austin Sparks

I don't remember where I got the following quote, but is so true that I must post it.

"There exists on this earth today literally countless thousands and even
millions of Christians today who are dormant dysfunctional members of the Body of Christ and the family of God. and some of them actually are so asleep that they think they are OK! They are taught that they are supposed to "go to church" (find THAT one in the Bible if you can) and "listen to the sermon" (that is not in the Bible either) and in doing so they are doing their duty as Christians and that this is living "according to the Bible!" Wow! What insane logic!"

"The continual moral and political decline in modern evangelicalism is coincidental with a rise in elitism in church leaders. This is often the case historically. The deterioration of morality and government is defended by leaders who are fortified by the Cult of Personality. As the confession states, the shift in authority goes to the institution, and the ordinances of the institution. i.e. what's being defended is not the Word of God, but rather the denomination, network, administration, or leader. In fact, the Word of God is downplayed because the Scriptures would condemn the leader, the organization, and the undiscerning followers." Chris Ortiz

"The setting aside of differences for the sake of unity is not true unity, but rather the compromising of standards, principles and those things that should be held as absolutes." WildernessWille

The above quote was made by me in response to a call for ecumenical unity in our city in 1993

"A patriot without religion in my estimation is as great a paradox as an honest Man without the fear of God. Is it possible that he whom no moral obligations bind, can have any real Good Will towards Men? Can he be a patriot who, by an openly vicious conduct, is undermining the very bonds of Society?....The Scriptures tell us "righteousness exalteth a Nation." Abigail Adams

“The primary function of a tax-exempt organization is to act on behalf of the Government in carrying out government approved policies”
U.S. Supreme Court

Now that is an outstanding reason why churches should never be 501c3 tax exempt.

"Good government and Christianity go hand-in-hand and there is no separation of church and state except in regards to establishing one domination above another. It is the state that needs to be taken out of the church and separated for the state is the thing which must be feared." Paul Cappadona

Just found this one, and I really like it.

"You have been created with the ability to change the world. Every single choice you make... every single action you take... matters. But remember, the converse is also true. Every choice you do not make... every action you do not take... matters just as much!" - Andy Andrews
