Here's a small list of suggestions:
1) Enable dohtml tags. Sometimes, members may want to embed videos into their posts and this can only be done with dohtml.
2) Change permission settings to allow validating members some posting ability.
3) Allow members to edit own thread titles and/or increase the character limit in thread titles. For example, in my introductory thread the title got cut off because it exceeded the character limit. It would be great if I could go back and edit it to something shorter (The forum counts the amount of characters in the unicode which is about 8x the actual amount. For example, if you typed in ♥, it counts as 8 characters instead of 1. When I typed my title in Japanese, there were 12 characters but the forum counted it as 96, so it got cut off).

Thanks for the suggestion, Reimu!
1. I am not really sure about enabling html in the forum... this is mostly to minimize spam, but I guess I can try enabling it for a while and see how it goes first. If you would like to post a video, you can always add it as a link (such as on YouTube or something).
2. Currently security settings is user e-mail validation, so as long as you validate your e-mail you will be able to post. The suggestion section is also open to guests and validating members.
3. I think members can edit their own titles... there isn't a setting for that in the control panel as far as I find... there isn't a setting for topic title either =(

EDIT: I couldn't find the html enable as well... how I wish this is a phpbb board =_=

If you're worried about spam, you can try enabling it in certain sections of the forum and see how it turns out. If only certain members are abusing it, just give them warnings. You won't have to worry about spambots abusing them because they're not smart enough to abuse html nor will they know how to use dohtml tags.

I've tried this in the past and it just doesn't feel the same, especially when you're constantly getting redirected to another page. Also, you won't actually know what the video looks like until you get redirected. For all you know, it may be a rickroll

It's open to guests and validating members, but validating members are unable to post. That's why I had to post as a guest when I tried to join.

Those settings should be available under "Edit User Group."

Invisionfree does not allow users to directly use html (This is to prevent abuse). However, users may choose to surround their html code with the [dohtml] tag in order for it to work. The admin can enable the [dohtml] tags by doing the following 2 things:
1) Under "Edit User Groups", check off the option that enables the group to use dohtml tags 2) In that particular forum section, edit the permission settings so that dohtml functions will be supported within that section.

I just thought of another suggestion:
Instead of banning spambots and leaving their posts littered throughout the forum, I think we should delete their garbage so the forum doesn't get cluttered with spam

For now I think only me and Mikiyo can delete posts. I don't come here as often now... (now that I am busy with school and has lots of other sites to manage =_=...) but when I come, I will delete the spam threads =)
