So, I hear everywhere that Plague Marines are super amazing troop choices. Now I've mentioned in the past how I don't like anything Nurgle related, and also want to have 'counts-as' in my army for any cult troops I might field.

I also recently bought the SM codex, and noticed that SM apothecaries confer FNP.

Obviously this would not be enough to really 'count as' Plague Marines, so does anyone else have any thoughts on how I could proxy this unit?

(I do have the daemonic front plates from the old Rhino that one day I may use as some kind of shield, but that's more Tzeentchy in line with combat shields)

I've also been thinking of doing this and ran into the same problem. Back in the day, there used to be different rules for the different types of power armour and I remembered that Iron Armour (mkIII) provided better frontal protection. I figured that modelling all the squad members in Iron Armour would work pretty well.

Good idea Aristeo; I hadn't though of different marks or armour.

However, after some consideration, I was helped by noticing that the accursed Ultrasmurf Chaplain character angry.gif was T6 due to bionics.

So, I'm planning a squad of apothecaries led by a techmarine, all augmented with bionics to count as the T5 and FNP plague marines (the bionics could also account for the I3).

Fluff wise, they'll be a battlefield salvage squad tasked with retrieving geneseed from fallen friends and enemies alike, and also with the appropriation of enemy tech or other useful stuff in general - also a perfect excuse to get them to sit on objectives whilst they carry out this work smile.gif Hydramark.jpg

I've got a load of hooded heads to use, but I've also got a load of Bt robed fronts I was going to use. My next question is; Would painting the BT cross red on white robes be too cheesy?

I was going to go with a 'lots of bionics' method...

I figured they could be another veteran type unit hence the fearless as well smile.gif
