This topic contains spoilers so those who do not wish their anticipation ruined please leave now. Highlight the text if you want to read.

The story has a very sinister and cynical look at our legion. First of all it's about Alpha vs. Alpha literally. Complete with tactics and bloodshed at it's highest level. I don't want to tell the plot details but it involves an "alien" (by the look of it - Necron) technology to control the Warp. And now some random bits and pieces.

Apparently all Legion's fleet named after the Greek alphabet so it's not only battle barges "Alpha' and "Betta".

The Legion has librarians but they operate as regular legionnaires and hide their talents from the rest except for the command.

The Legion had some combat operations against Emperor's Children, Night Lords, "Angels" (Blood/ Dark?) and in this story they are occupied bogging down White Scars in their war with orks.

There is also mentioning of Demurg as a very technologically advance race so I expect them to pop as model range probably next year with the Tau codex.

From the last passage I've got the feeling the the Twins don't trust anyone, even to some degree - each other.

I think the might be a sequel to the story.

Great observations there Wethaur! I'll be looking forward to reading what comes next.

You know, on the other hand, I felt that it wasn't so much as mistrust between them but more as they decide, maybe, that since there are two of them, they must each follow an opposite path.

This story was a really great read. Rob Sanders should write more Alpha Legion stories in my opinion.

I sort of agree that it seems like the twins are working against each other. It made me think back to Legion when they were faced with the Acuity and had to make an impossible choice. But if you were one soul in two bodies you could make both choices, bringing about the third paradox. A new outcome is being achieved through the interplay of two opposing outcomes being pursued. At least that's what I took from it.

i finished it last week as well; Spoiler: I'm not sure about the covered armour; do you think that Omegon might have fallen to Tzeentch, for example? Maybe stemming from being the 'unnamed/unrecognised' twin?

But I do agree with ageis and others that it seems like a Legion schism could be on the cards... blink.gif

Btw, is it just me that loved the captain in charge of the installation? He was seriously awesome!

I personally liked how the abandoned squad decides not to give up. That's some hardcore.

They're a pretty hardcode squad to start with though, hehe
