Back to the forum after some times, I was quite busy in other things, but I didn't forget my loved Legion..

What I wanted to ask to you all brothers, is: have you just planned some work/changes in your army, with the new codex arriving soon and 6ed rules?

I'm considering that with alliances rules, cultists (if rumours about starter box are true, I really hope so!) and maybe even possibility to infiltrate with transport (I heard it recently, but didn't understand if it's sure or just a rumor) we can seriously think about a True AL army.

Telling this, I'm starting assembling and painting a couple of CSM squads, and maybe some chosens, with bitz I just have (a lot of..).

Guidlines are:
- trying to achieve a good painting skill, and a nice colour scheme
- less horns, spikes and chaotic signs possible (troops must have an operative, stealthy look, almost - I said almost - loyalist..
Two standard teams, with double melta/double plasma option.

For chosens I'm considering possibility of having a camo team, I've found a scheme that (maybe changing colors) I like very much:
http://fromthewarp.blogspot.it/2012/01/spa...mo-schemes.html

I'm also working on a warlord, coming from the Vulkan resin minion largely modified, I'm quite proud of results.

My next buy will be the 6ed starter set, when available, and from there (and from the new codex..) I'll decide future of my cell.

I dream about a large use of traitor guard, as meat shield and for heavy support to my specialistic teams, and cultists, even as a human wall.. Fluffy, funny, competitive I don't know.. but really interesting.

What are rumours about obliterators in sixt edition? There will be again place for them? Because I have some ideas, but I don't want to invest money on something that could be in the future not usable.

What are your opinions?

As for specific plans I have none, but I have plenty of models I want painted.
With the new edition came a wish to buy a bastion and then infiltrate it. Also I have been thinking about constantly running a sorcerer and a squad of ts just to thoroughly check out the new psyker rules.
And then maybe, just maybe a bunch of cultists.

The new rules and the rumored CSM codex update have me interested in switching from C:SM for my AL "infiltrator" chapter.

I'm a big fan of the AL fluff, and like the idea of a "they look like normal marines, but they might not be friendly" force, with mysterious goals. I don't want tentacled marines or daemons in my army, so maybe the new codex will give more AL-like options.

The camo marines look very cool. From the Warp is a very talented painter. His "how to paint realistic faces" post is amazing. I'm going to try that method on my helmet-less marines and scouts when I get better as an overall painter.

I recently picked up two boxes of thesewhich are great value and plan to use them as storm troopers under the new allies rules or maybe in future if the c:csm includes suitable cultist or operative rules use them as those instead.

I quite honestly don't know. It's keeping me from making progress a bit unfortunately. sad.gif
I did put down my core ideas in the painting section, but I feel unsure about going ahead, even though I want to. After all, new rules could make my plans obsolete.

I saw your thread, your ideas are very interesting, and I'm truly convinced that possibility of using uman cultists and traitor guard allied will be a great opportunity of catching the real AL spirit.
You have the same problem of most of us, but I decided anyway to pass over, and waiting for new codex I'll just work on a couple of standard squad, and maybe some traitor guardsmen.

p.s. and, Doppleganger, great minions, I'll seriously consider them, thank you for sharing
