So what happened to Alpharius? Did Gulliman snuff him? Was it all a hoax?
Whats your opinion... what happened to Alpharius?

I have my own opinions but I thought Id hear yours before I go into mine.

I am Alpharius.

Seriously though, I bet Guiliman killed him. As much as we dont want to hear that our Primarch was defeated in combat, GW loves their Ultramarines as the heroes of the 40k universe.

I am Alpharius.

He isn't dead. The entire log of that was a hoax enacted by an Inquisitor member of the Cult of the Hydra.

I belive Alperius is dead, how much we ever wanted it to be different. It doesn't change that the Alpha legion kicked Ultramarines ass right after tho. And it doesn't mean we still can't honour the primarch and what he thought us.

I think he's dead but his death and our subsequent victory proved his point. he wanted the Legion to rise above and beyond that of any other legion. He wanted the legion to become even bigger than he himself was and more than capable of carrying on without him. Which we did.

We're overlooking a possibility.

What if there never was an Alpharius? Remember the last parts of the Fulgrim novel? It said Alpharius tried his best to look the part of his brothers. Implying that he never was as grandiose as the other Primarchs.

What if every member of The Legion actually is Alpharius. What if there never was any one single Primarch?

Interesting thought...
But then who would be the 20th Primarchh? The Emperor created someone.

That brings up an interesting point. If every Marine says they are Alpharius(based on Legion fluff), and Alpharius blended in witrh the rest of his brother marines, maybe Guiliman killed the wrong Alpharius and the primarch is still alive...

He could've been lost forever like the other 2 primarchs that dissappeared mysteriously?

Either way. I think "Alpharius" is either still alive, or he never existed.

One head was cut off. Two new took its place.

Im inclined to believe he is alive after reading the IA article mainly because the Ultramarines are, as much as people hate to admit it, a great fighting force and it would have taken a Primach to defeat a Primach who did something unexpected.

IMHO as bad as it sounds Alpharius is dead.
However, he died not because he couldn't defend himself; he died to prove his point. And he has proved it - the Ultras were beaten without him.

The sacrifice on his behalf wasn't the only one in the history of Chaos Space Marines - the Night Haunter has died just like that.

Indeed Night Haunter did, and neither his death can be proven true or false. IMO it doesn't matter whatever any of them is dead or alive; what matters is that the legion exist and are active.

Now, tell me, if everyone is Alpharious, and all are one, who does then decide the far reaching goals of the AL?

For the Night Lords the legion is a fractured lot of individual warlords, divided in their use and worship of chaos, much like their primarch. Each move is initiated by a single commander, who then gathers support among his brothers until the goal can be reached. No common goal is apparent though, except the destruction of the Imperium and the Emperor.

But what makes the AL act?

Best regards,

Thrawn

Interesting.... Id imagine it would be in a similar way.... With each of the AL cells having contact with each other to a greater or lesser degree.

Id have to say its a similar level as the Night Lords. With each Lord petitoning another fr help when required for Larger Goals.

Stupid Question but who is "Eskrador"?

I apologize if the question is silly, but will you share this secret with me even if I'm a Night Lord? wink.gif
