which army should i collect

I've been debating what army to collect. I was thinking DE but when i bought path of the warrior and path of the seer i wanted to by eldar. I can't make decision so it would help if you gave me advice

Well the Eldar dex is a little dated. And I'd say DE are a lot more poweful these days. But I'd do them I barely ever see any these days.

But if you do decide to do eldar. I have a ton of stuff iv been meaning to put on e bay. Iv been paint stripping them so bit messy at the moment. But give us a shout if your interested.

It depends on what you're looking for in a collection; gaming ability or fluff/model reasons.

Certainly the DE are the more powerful codex; the eldar rules are alright, but they are mostly hampered by points cost. For example, Dark Reapers have Heavy 2, Str 5, AP 3 Reaper Launchers, but when they're more expensive than much more adaptable Space Marine Devestators with Missile Launchers, then you tend to suffer with overall numbers a little. The ability to fit an extra squad or two into an army would greatly enhance every Eldar Army.

If you wanted eldar, they're one of those Codexes that should be review over the next few years; certainly I am looking forward to having an army that will be ready to field with some shiny new rules.

Although if you still can't decide you could go halfway and get a squad of Harlequins to start with

Personally I would choose dark eldar because they're a chaos force and I feel that with many chaos forces they're a lot more flexible and open for conversion. I have seen some very neat things done with DE and the fact that you can add in auxillaries like those serpents and stuff. Also after reading the DE article on Capture and Control the DE look like they have some amazing vehicle and elite combinations

With them have a much stronger dex from what I've seen, as well as the release of the new DE mega force that gets released for purchase on december third. I think if you wanted to make either a large, or a small investment, now is the time to do it for the dark eldar!

after looking through both codexs and seeing your advice i have decided to go with Alaitoc eldar because i like the fluff and the challenge it will bring forth
