Hm, that sounds like a simple solution, throwing in a few upgrades (fistichamps, plasma and such) in existing squads might be an easy way to go.
I kinda like it, but we shall see what the end result will be wink.gif

Well, I had my first two games with the 1000p list today and it really was a lot of fun!

First was against Sisters of Battle, Annihilation, Pitched Battle deployment. Solid victory, Sorcerer and Chosen did really shine (they killed off a Canoness and her retinue without a scratch and proceeded to eat through the rest of that flank)

Second was against Necrons, Capture and Control, Dawn of War deployment. Close victory, ended up with only the two CSM squads (and kinda reduced at that) left on the board. Did manage to hold one objective and contest the other though, with the necrons similarly reduced in number.
The shooty Dread was quite good at bashing the um... clockwork out of scarab swarms but less successful in dealing with the tomb spyder.
The Chosen worked wonders in this game too, 'crons seem to be severely allergic to flamers, though they have an annoying habit of getting back up again angry.gif
The Chosen almost bashed the Necron Lord to pieces in one round with two guys, granted that one of them was the one with the BBQ Stick™.

Also, regular CSM performs admirably in every situation I've managed to put them in. Especially close combat. devil.gif

sounds good. Normal CSM are extremely solid for their point costs so it's easy to go troop heavy. Any plans on expansions for the army, and adding it to your cool army painting blog?

Well, firstly I'm planning to paint all the units I have for 1000p.

After that it's back to the old building and converting table (which I can spend waay too long time at...) for a set of eight scratchbuilt Raptors with Meltas and a FistiChamp as a retinue for my Lord/tank hunting squad. A regular CSM squad will also be built, to save money (and to be a bit more imaginative) they will have two plasma guns. A FistiChamp will be added to the existing Melta squad.

That's about the proper additions I'm going to use, I'll probably continue working with my Termie Lord with Daemon Weapon (he's made a brief appearance in the plog earlier), scratchbuild a few Noise Marines with Sonic Blasters, perhaps make a few Cultists, a gang of really freaky counts-as Bikers and a smattering of small projects.
Hopefully I'll paint up the additions to 1500p before I get way ahead of myself in the building department again rolleyes.gif

Glad I could brighten someones day smile.gif
That pack of bikers will have quite a bit of GS work on them and that's all I will tell you before they're fully modeled wink.gif

I'm also thinking about getting a Black Reach-dread to convert the sanity out of (thus making it an insanely converted dread tongue.gif) and make it into a double CC-weapon dread with a suitably crazy pose.

Anyway, I think that this will be what I run at 1500p:

HQ:

Lord [Wings, Daemon Weapon]

Elites:

8 Chosen [4 flamers, 1 PW(AspChamp), IOCG], Rhino

Dreadnought [Plasma Cannon, Missile Launcher]

Troops:

10 CSM [2x Melta, IOCG, AspChamp PF] Rhino

10 CSM [2x Flamer, IOCG]

10 CSM [2x Plasma, IOCG]

Fast Attack:

8 Raptors [2 meltagun, IOCG] AspChamp [PF]

Heavy Support:

2 Obliterators

Total: 1499p

Can't remember where I got this picture from, but I was thinking of a similar pose if they bring out a plastic furioso:

That's a nice and dynamic pose, good find.

I was thinking of a slightly more over the top pose, but I'll see if I will scratchbuild something or if I will actually buy one and convert it for a bit. It's a project way down the line for the moment, the Raptors and bikers call for my converting and scratchbuilding attention first rolleyes.gif
