Can you guess what time it is?
That's right, update time!

I got a bit inspired (by you guys, actually laugh.gif) and made most of it today (December 1st, it would have been up earlier but I had to make travel plans with a buddy who incidentally had some booze he wanted to share...)

Anyway, on to the pics (with infiltrating Lord in the background):

It's my first time ever using source lighting so any mistakes will be blamed on that fact tongue.gif

That is just amazing man. The color is consistent with your other guys and it looks like he is about to just go to town on some smurfs. Well done Brother thumbsup.gif

Ditto what Ageis said, particularly the part about nice job! smile.gif The scenic base in particular looks really cool.

QUOTE (HydraDominatus @ Dec 2 2009, 03:57 AM)
The scenic base in particular looks really cool.

I quite like the fact that as he has no CCW, that huge chunk of rock in the front is going to hinder the enemy getting into base to base! laugh.gif

Good work there Typewriter thumbsup.gif

I'm beginning to think I'm a little out of kilter with the rest of the universe; I must admit, when I first looked at it, I thought; "I hope he's attached it well to the base!". Have you pinned it? I don't have the fainted cue how hard/easy resin is to drill.

Aww, thanks guys!

I'll put some glow on the side of the body today and get a few pics up so you can see how it went.

The scenic base came to be through boredom (and slight disappointment that I didn't get a special 60mm base with the Forgeworld dread...). So I went to town with a few pieces of cork, some sprue and a sprinkling of stuff I had lying around smile.gif

Heh, he has chosen his vantage point well. No one will dare approach from the front, getting a spur of rock in the face works as a deterrent wink.gif

I've actually not pinned it, didn't think of it until now... he's quite soundly glued though so I hope he'll stay in place anyway.
Resin is actually easier to drill than GW plastics, it's harder but more brittle.

I've managed to get bitten by the painting bug, so I slapped some more paint on the dread and will begin with the last CSM squad later.

They were slightly blurry, but I think the differences show well enough.

That does indeed look better thumbsup.gif Well done for trying it out too; I donit think I've got the guts to try it out on any of my models. sad.gif

Does the smoke launcher come with the FW kit, or did you add that yourself?

Thanks mate, I think it looks better this way too smile.gif
Well, dare to try with one model, it can't be worse than having to re-do a part. I kinda dreaded doing it myself, since it was on a detailed area, but it worked out fine (phew).

The smoke launcher came with the model.

Thanks mate!

I actually didn't think about it all that much before I tried, but I'm very proud of the result smile.gif

Well, I think it's about time for an update!

The second CSM squad is finished, nothing really special here but they will be shared nevertheless.

I love how alpha legion can be depicted in so many different colour schemes, and this heavy green one is definately turning into my favourate
