Quiet, My first RP post!

[*Rancid Skull]

"Hohohoho! Why don't you join us then? You aren't the only one who has lost their life." He pushed his shopping cart off in the direction of the two fighters.
As the old man walked, Kenblii had jumped back into his path. He flund his arms back on his landing and knocked the cart over, spilling the contents. The old bum didn't seem to mind though. He stepped slightly up to Kenblii, holding out his hand.
"Food or change for an old bum?" He said in his coarse voice.
Kenblii looked at him meanly and snarled. "Get outta here!" He yelled, shoving the old man. But what happened after was strange.
The man didn't fall, but caught Kenblii's arm. And in an instant he had pulled Kenblii in, grabbed his head, jerking it to the side, exposing his neck. And the man bit down on him.
Kenblii yelled in pain as blood rushed from his veins and out his neck. In a few seconds, his yelling stopped and the man dropped him to the ground.
He was now standing up straighter, his clothes still covering his face. But blood dripped from his mouth.

Mai felt the sudden urge to scream at the sight, but was too emotionally exhausted to even open her mouth. What imerged instead was a sort of a whimper, and she felt a small surge of satisfaction at seeing Kenblii bleeding on the ground, and felt that her revenge had been completed without her having to lift a finger. She didn't move from her position at the foot of her 'okiya', and her hands clenched at the skirt of her kimono.

"Thank you," she said to the old man, uncaring of the blood trailing down his chin. "He killed my mother."

(ooc: and you told me that what happened wasn't MAJOR? WTF NAT? XD anywayyyyyyyys...)

Iris was caught in Kenblii's legs and pulled to the ground. Out of her periphreal vision, she saw Mai having a conversation with a mysterious old man, apparently a homeless.

Suddenly, the old man began to come over to where Kenblii, now standing, was. After a brief bit of discusion, the old man stooped, seized Kenblii, and bit into his neck. The blood that rushed out was sickening and made Iris cringe. Since her childhood, she'd never liked blood much.

The old man dropped him to the ground where he lied, blood pooling all around him. Clearly, the man who had seemed so strong physically compared to Iris was now dead.

After a moment of shock, Iris pulled herself up, feeling her back crack and the slight brusing and cuts on her body stung.

She ran over to the old man and tapped him on the shoulder carefully. He turned to face her, blood still dripping down his face. Iris tried not to cringe more as she spoke. "Thank you, sir. If you had not have stepped in when you did, I fear that I may have been dead."

Seeing Mai in a state of horror on the ground, Iris ran to her, and pulled her into a hug.

"Mai, dear. It's okay, I promise. He's gone now and nothing more of yours can be destroyed."

But then again, Iris couldn't help but think that this man being able to destroy someone not even Iris could injure was strange. There had to be something there. Something that Iris couldn't imagine. And it scared her worse than anything.

The man looked over to the two hugging, and nodded gently. "You're welcome" He said walking over toward the pile of clothes.
"Did you know, when a vampire of higher calibur bites someone, they can not only extract blood but extract memories?" The man reached into the clothes, slowly digging in and pulling out one thing. Placing the black top hat on his head, right over the ragged hood. The man turned back to them, most of his face in shadow, but what could be seen was an insane, bloody grin. The man then put his hands in his pockets and walked away.

[*Iris Nyte]

Iris glanced at Mai for a split second and stood up.

"Wait!" she called to the man, "What do you mean, sir?"\

But silently, she felt that she already knew.

[*mai]

Mai felt Iris' arms wrap around her and heard her voice whisper comforting words, but Mai didn't reply; for she was too busy staring blankly at the remains of her okiya.

She heard the old man talk, and the voice sounded very familiar -- she turned her head slightly to reply, but the sight of a black hat and a disturbing smile made her voice stick in her throat. "You," was all she managed to croak, but by then the man had already walked away. "Iris," she continued, reaching up to clutch at her friend's arm. "That is him. I am sure of it."

[*Iris Nyte]

Iris felt Mai's shaking had grasp on her arm. She looked at the man with a pure, almost sickly type of horror on her face.

When Mai spoke to Iris, the purple one couldn't hide the confusion. "Who, Mai? Who?" she felt Mai shaking against her.

[*mai]

"Him," she persisted, her grip on Iris' arm tightening. "The one who is after me." She paused, smiling very slightly, but it seemed forced. "It appears...I have to tell you my story as well...but let's get somewhere more private...and not where we are surrounded by rubble. However..." Mai stood suddenly and began to shift through the rocks and wood, searching. "If I am to continue living I will have to be able to continue my career as a geisha for as long as I can. Some of my kimono must have survived the collapse."

As she predicted, she found a few boxes of kimono that were not broken or shattered, and with great effort she pulled them out from the rubble. She brushed the dust off the box. Mai turned back to Iris. "Could you be so kind to help me carry these? And about my mother... I will just..." she hesitated, the tears coming again. "...return later to bury her properly."

[*Iris Nyte]

Iris followed Mai back into the rubble. When Mai held up several boxes of kimono, asking Iris to help her carry them, she took them, saying, "It's the only thing I can do to ever begin to repay you for all your kindness."

When Mai began to mention her mother, Iris looked at her with empathy, "Are you sure she's not alive somewhere, Mai? If she is... maybe there's something I could do to help? Carry her to a hospital for you? You saw how fast I can run."

Choosing to dissuade from the subject at hand, she went into the dark matter about how exactly the now-dead Kenblii knew so much about Iris already. "I think it would be best if we both chose to only tell each other things when we're in an area far, far away from here. So let's hurry. Clearly, it's important that you tell me about the man with the tophat."

[*mai]

Mai nodded, brushing away her sadness momentarily. "I'm sure there is an okiya that will take me in. If not, I know many inns that would allow us in free of charge."

She sighed, brushing the hair that had fallen into her face aside. "What would you like to know about him? I truly don't know where to start..."

[*Iris Nyte]

Iris looked at Mai. "A new okiya, Mai? Do you have to go back to an okiya? I would like us to remain in contact. I just have this... this feeling. Maybe you are in danger. And now that you've helped me and learned so much about me, I would just feel better if we could be able to talk to each other whenever it is needed."

Iris held up a finger to her lips. "Not here, Mai. Later, when we're purely away from everybody else, and no one can over hear us. We musten't know anything."

[*mai]

Mai held up her hands. "It's all right, Iris-san. We don't have to go to an okiya -- after all, I'm no longer a maiko. We can go get a room, if that's better."

Mai nodded in response to her shushing. "All right. Once we get to the inn, we shall talk."

[*Iris Nyte]

Iris smiled kindly. "Yes, that would be much more suitable."

Iris looked out over the rubble of the okiya at the beautiful setting sun. It cat blood-red lights onto the rubble, making it appear as if a battle to the death had occured there.
