Over Kel’an

Ranith and Aubri appeared over Kel’an, flying just low enough that they could be seen by the soldiers he was sure were down in the town. After all, confirmation would let him pass misinformation like that again. Suddenly four dragons neither of them recognized rose up around them. Hey, Aubri. I think we should- Then everything went black.

Dragon’s Keep

Zurak was listening to a report by one of his lower ranked soldiers when a servant came up from behind his throne and whispered in his ear “Excuse me milord, but there is a man who wants to see you about Claw Plateau. He told us to give you this.” The servant gave Zurak a signet ring. Zurak dismissed the soldier and spoke to the servant. “Tell him to meet me in the northeast tower and give him his ring back.” He gave the ring back to the servant.

The Northeast Tower a few days later

Zurak was sitting at a table with a cloaked and hooded stranger. “...and you are sure that the Plateau is necessary to this plan?” “Yes I am. And to make it more likely the Riders come I will need a few of the people you have in your dungeons.” “That can be arranged. Anything else?” “Yes. I will need a small contingent of soldiers and help with this.” The stranger pushed a piece of parchment across the table. Zurak picked up the piece of parchment and looked it over. “When do you intend to leave?” “The day after tomorrow.” “Then it will be done.” Zurak waved his hand, dismissing the stranger who stood up and bowed before leaving.

Outside Claw Plateau

A group of about twenty horsemen pulled up outside the Plateau fortress, their leader, a cloaked and hooded man, carrying a white flag.

*Sigh* Things were really starting to wind down around here, Mr. Bojangles thought to himself. Ever since Willard died, there hasn’t been much to do. Though, that’s to be expected when the past five years have been spent preparing for war, and being in a lull between phases didn't help bring the excitement back. Zurak has yet to respond to the offer of "giving" the outlander troops to his army. He didn't see why. Oh well, at least the repairs and improvements to the Plateau’s defenses have finally finished. They were two weeks behind schedule for not having Willard around to repair it in a day or two. Then, looking out the window, he noticed the group of horses and the white flag. Well, at least he wont have to check inventory again today. Speaking to the guard next to him, “Tell the wall guard to let their emissary in, and to train two cannons on the remaining group. Preferably from the main wall.”

(to clear up the minor ambiguity in this post: Nominal command is to be given to only the emissary and he is promissing he and his men will stay out of the way)

The cloaked man walked in. He did not remove his hood, nor did he waste any time on pleasantries, but got straight down to buisness. "A short time ago, your leader approached the King with a proposition. Since that time the situation has...changed and he has instructed me to offer you and your people another one. You surrender nominal command of the Plateau to me and my men and I will stay out of the way while you continue running this army. Unless the Riders attempt to reclaim the Plateau, in which case I need to know that any orders I give will be obeyed immediately and without question."

[Randomhitter]

Mr. Bojangles raised his eyebrow. "Not even a name to adress you by good sir?" He responded in a slightly sarcastic tone. "Well, as for being stationed in the Plateau, I have no quarrel, and for the obeying orders part, all you need to do is inform me of the command, and it shall be done, but for the continuing our operations part... well, you see." Not really sure how to put it. "It may put a damper on your plan."

"My name is irrelevant. All you need to know is that I am the King's Emissary. And would you care to explain that last part slightly better?"

[Randomhitter]

"Well, we are against the riders in all forms. And our next thing on our to-do list is to invade the Azure sanctuary. Now, rumor has it that we have the same goal there. Us bening primaraly yours, would you may want the first stab at it?"

The cloaked man paused. "We do already have a plan for dealing with Azure and I'll get to that in a moment, but first I need to know. You say you are against the Riders in all forms. What of the Imperial Riders (this is an official term now people), those who are loyal to the King? Can we trust your people not to attack them if you come togther on the battlefield or will we have to make sure you stay away from them?" he put slightly more emphasis on the word Rider than Bojangles did.

[Randomhitter]

"Well, you never really know how the individual will react to the riders. My people have poured all their hate into the riders, but since they will know that the ones who caused their suffering are facing your blades, they will be willing to fight alongside until the old riders have fallen."

"Well I suppose that will have to be good enough for now. Now, the plan we have is fairly simple. All we need is to draw the Riders in here and hold them here for a decent amount of time. Our people will take care of Azure."

[Randomhitter]

"Uh, I don't suppose that your researchers found a “how not to kill” function for our weapons? If or when the riders come to take this place back, we will do a lot more than just hold them here. You would be hard pressed to find an enemy left. They might have been fine with abandoning this lovely rock, but my men and I are happy to fight to the death for this place they once, and now, call home."

"That is not a problem at all. All we need is for them to be unable to leave. How you acomplish that is mostly up to you."

"Then since there appears to be nothing left to discuss, I believe that this meeting is over."

The Emissary was sitting behind a desk with his lips pursed as he considered the message he had recieved from the capital. It seemed strange to him that the King would suddenly undergo such a complete change of opinion about the Outlanders with no explination. He had an important decision to make.
He stopped one of the Outlanders as he passed by his room. "Find Bojangles and tell him I need to speak with him at his earliest convience."

[Wyrda]

Kerebos landed well outside the gates of Claw Plateau to avoid getting shot at by anyone who happened to be sitting on the top of the walls. Kerebos' armor had been colored ivory white and a white banner had been fastened to his saddle. Kerebos, nervously, stalked closer towards the gates, watching the walls carefully. He stopped about a dragon's length away. Eve, Queen of the Daughters of Aiedi, seeks an audience with your leader! We have come unarmed. This is a matter of grave importance.

Kerebos glanced back at Eve. I still think you should have brought at escort. 'No, then they would have gotten the wrong message. I just hope they're resonable enough to at least hear us out.'

Mr. Bojangles was awakened by his door guard hastily. He died for that, the crew that then came in to clean up his body informed him of the emissary from the empire needed to talk with him. “Well f**k that!” he was severally hung over. After several hours of getting ready, and reducing the swelling of his head, he finally meet up with him. “What are you still doing here?”
