Because Aiedail is an original world, many of it's concepts can be a bit difficult to understand. This walkthrough is to help better your understanding of the basic concepts that make Aiedail its own unique world.

The Basic Ground Rules
*There are a few basic ground rules that need to be followed in Aiedail.

-You're not allowed to have an invincible character
-You can't kill other characters without the member's permission, unless it's a temporary NPC.
-During wars, you cannot destroy locations unless you've been given permission.
-You cannot make up you're own race right on the spot. You have to discuss that with the admin first.
-You cannot start off with a high ranking character unless an admin has given you approval.

Creating a Character
*Aiedail has several races to choose from as well as a variety of professions and/or rankings to choose from. This is just a small overview of the races.

Wyrms- Draconian females that live in an society similar to the Amazons. One of the Greater Races of Aiedail, they weild great power and some can even communicate with the Aspects themselves. Wyrms are mainly female, though there are rare occurances of male wyrms.
*If you wish to create a male wyrm character, you need to get permission from the admin first.

Dragons - Lords of the sky and mountains, these large beasts are also among the Greater Races of Aiedail and once lived in peace with all, until the war nearly annihlated them. Now the tribes are unsettled and wish to settle old scores and grudges. Wild dragons often live in tribes deep in the mountains, far from human kind.
*A Rider's Dragon stays with the Rider until the Rider dies

The Riders - Though techincally not an actually race, Riders stand out from normal humans because they are 'bonded,' deeply connected, to a dragon who is their partner for the rest of their life. Riders possess great potential and power in magick and combat and are bound by a strict code of honor, vowed to preserve all of Aiedail and it's races.

Shyfters - Once human hundreds of cycles ago, these 'mutants' are part animal, most able to shift from human to beast and back again. Some shyfters cannot change shape and appear as if they are caught between transformation. Living in isolation in the Forest of Emeralds, the Shyfters keep away from the affairs of the rest of the world and the four clans live in relative peace with each other.

Humans - Though not as powerful as the other races that inhabit Aiedail, Humans have the capability of weilding magick and their knack for expansion and technology give them power. Humans can take on a vareity of positions and professions

Wraith Riders - This is not a selectable race, but members who have a dead Rider character may be choosen to have their Rider and dragon resurrected as a Wraith Rider. The purpose of the wraiths is still yet unclear, but they have a deep connection to Aiedail itself in some manner.


What's the Main Story Line?

The main story line of Aiedail is pretty vague, but more details will be added as events happen. For years, the wyrms and dragons have been feeling a darkness looming the distance, threatening Aiedail in some unseen manner. For a time, time it was ignored, though the wyrms kept a close eye on it. And now, it seems something big is going to happen as the wyrms share with the Riders that the Aspects, great beings of power that created Aiedail, are moving and some may even become directly involved. It's not yet clear what the threat to Aiedail is, but there are other things to worry about as the Empire, which threatened to destroy all of dragon-kind, has been resurrected by the king's forgotten son.


Factions

Nearly every last member of all the races belong to their own factions, though there are some that do not affiliate themselves with any due to various circumstances or reasons. Each faction has it's own influences and is restricted by it's own rules, depending on who's in charge. Some factions get along while others are determined to destroy each other.


How does the Faction Reputation System work?

Each faction has it's own attitude towards the other existing factions on Aiedail. This determines how NPCs react towards characters, but also pertains to how RPed characters should react towards members of opposing factions and allied factions, unless the character happens to be a traitor or spy of some sorts. Reputation between factions can change depending on events such as wars or perhaps a major plot change, changing how the story flows.


So, how do I start?

First, you need to have at least one character registered in the Character Registry section, though there is no limit to how many characters you can RP here. Once your character has been approved by the admin, then you can jump into an already existing thread or start your own. It's encouraged that members not only try to add to the main storyline, but also come up with their own sub-plots, adding new twists that could affect the main storyline in an unexpected way.


What if I have an idea about a new race or something? What do I do?

You can contact the main admin, Wyrda, with your idea or place one in the 'Suggestion' forum. Aiedail welcomes the ideas of all to make Aiedail a unique, one-of-a-kind world. Members aren't just limited to coming up with new races or factions, you can add new locations, make variations to existing races, whatever comes to mind. Normally, the admin will discuss your idea with you to hammer out the finer details and make sure it fits into Aiedail smoothly.
