The first dragon was created by Aiedi and brought to life by Feroa. It was a red female dragon named Zerranivicus, Mother of the Dragons. When she was brought to life, Feroa impregnated her with a tremendous clutch of eggs, from which were the first members of the Burning Circle Tribe, the oldest and most powerful dragon tribe on Aiedail.

After several hundred cycles, Zerranivicus passed on, leaving her Alpha Consort Retiin to lead the tribe. Under his reign is when the Humans first arrived on Aiedail. When he got word that they had stolen eggs for food, instead of retaliating violently, he sent food to them, fascinated by the newcomers to their lands. He felt sorry for the humans, who had arrived on Aiedail with little more than the clothes on their backs and the family and friends that had survived the boat's crashing. He had them teach the humans how to survive on this new land and soon, there was a strong pact between the Burning Circle Tribe and the Humans.
