Now that a lot of the plottage with the first set of AG characters is pretty much set in stone, we need to make room for the new and unplotted characters at AG! Artie and Jemma have both expressed interest about creating some plots, and I'd like to come up with some stuff for Daisy as well. Daisy Li is a young American witch who doesn't know much about the world. In an effort to get her to "have more life experiences," her parents shipped her off to London to get a job and fend for herself. She's quirky and friendly and I can see her getting caught up in stuff way over her head by accident. Other stuff we can work with: Maybe something happens with a group of witches/wizards because of the weeklong disappearance of magic? Like, they're stuck somewhere together because they need magic to get out/back to their real homes? I'm a little bit fuzzy on that idea still. OR we could play around with the idea of terrorists and ministry chaos. Would a group of totally inexperienced witches and wizards be interested in starting a neighborhood watch program to prevent their friends and family from being abducted? How would the ministry react to such a group? That's all I have for now. Bring on the fresh faces and ideas!

I purposefully wrote in my characters to make them easy to envelope into the plot at hand, but it hasn't worked so well.
Artemius is still a bit green in how things work in London, although he is feeling how faith in the system leads to heartbreak, as the pressures of taking care of his family is now on his shoulders, and also he is well aware of the hatred society has for those who are different, after his experiences with his mother's lycanthropic work. He is currently feeling out of touch and out of place with reality, as his whole world has been displaced, and he finds the loving home he once knew suddenly replaced with a cold, harsh, uncaring world that is boring, to boot. Although a wage slave, he was raised with manners, and with so few people in the city raised the old-fashioned way, anyone who is courteous automatically gets his support. I am just waiting for a crooked gentleman/woman to politely ask him to smuggle something or pass on a threatening owl or put in paperwork or something, and he'll think he's being a good citizen while actually assisting in crime unknowingly. Ideally, this would go on for some time, and he'd get more involved with his new "friend" before getting caught and getting in trouble for what he thought was good deeds. As it is, he should be familiar with any werewolf that has been changed in the last twenty years, except for the extra headstrong ones who are "above help" -- this could be helpful later.
Griselda in general is a Rita Skeeter type, but also a gold digger/cougar. I would hope that she would get into a nice amount of trouble this way. Again, criminals, politics, let her meddle without knowing it, or even perhaps knowing it all, and doing something stupid for the sake of a bit of juicy gossip.
Zimmerman is, I would hope, a popular tailor, meaning he knows people, and should a criminal or someone else of influence whisper something in confidence to their tailor that causes Zim to necessarily do something to save someone else, for example... Well, he also has a catalyst of a business place for a great deal of any plots, even simple ones like an underground movement (a meeting place/rendezvous/someone to pass on the message), hiding a convict (provided they're good acquaintances first), or even a little rivalry with the Sinistras, if nothing else. There are a great deal of options with Zim, although he is at heart a good guy, if quirky.
I don't know if Artie would be much good for a neighborhood watch, seeing as his neighborhood is Diagon Alley, essentially, but I'm sure Zim would be helpful in such a situation.
In a sense, I'm just waiting for Griselda to hit on the wrong guy or offend someone, while Zim might end up knowing too much about something, while Artie would be one of those nice guys that get taken advantage of. Not to mention all of them are single at the moment. :/

I sent a PM to your Zim account about getting a forum set up for the shop, did you get it? I can see Griselda knowing Carmen and Lola. Maybe they have tea together on Wednesdays or something, that would be HYSTERICAL to see those three emotionally corrupt women chatting it up. Daisy could go to Zimmerman's shop looking for work, she does enjoy fashion. Maybe she could end up boarding there, and invite someone to live there who isn't trustworthy?

I got it, and I replied. As for the job, I did just write that his daughter left, so a lady receptionist or something may not go amiss. I might suggest we have her working there for at least a bit before she'd invite others in. And I have to say, the Wednesday tea would be wonderful. In fact, if everyone's up to that, I would like to start that up as soon as possible.

Hi everyone, Arty (not Artie ) here. I've got two new characters, Lola Davis and Cecil Banister. Lola would totally be up for the tea...but unfortunately since i'm fighting 2 broken wrists I can't promise I'd be very good at keeping up w/ threads right now. Also Cecil B. is crazy...and i'm still in the market for a nice relatively upstanding sort of witch or wizard who would be willing to be stalked by him. He missed out on being a wizard himself and would probably latch on to someone he believes he should be like. Anyone interested?

Yeah! Emotional involvement is good. I've seen you in the past/are seeing you, which would definitely make things a bit more complicated. I'm good for that. It sounds like fun. Now we just need the crook And Carmen, I'm ready when you are. ~K

Behold, a crook! Spiv here. Patrick isn't a new character, per se, but he needs new plot since his lady has gone MIA. He comes from a long line of Irish criminals and though he's really a criminal Jack-of-all-trades, his specialty is black market trade, especially historical/magical artifacts. He's been laying low lately, but since the fall of magic his business has expanded: he's being hired left and right to retrieve magical artifacts stolen by Muggles or to replace/restore objects whose magical properties disappeared during the absence of magic. I could definitely see him manipulating Artie, probably by posing as an undercover Ministry official and getting him to pass on any reports the Ministry has about Muggles and magical artifacts, things of that nature. How else would you like to use him? (I should probably add that he's a raging womanizer. )

Womanizer? Omaiz...
That sounds wonderful. Mind, one would have to start said business with Baxby under the impression that what he's doing is just average stuff -- Pat's running late, sees the guard, says, "Hey, could you pass this letter on to [insert department head here]? I'm running terribly late, if you don't mind...?" [Not mentioning it's a blackmail letter, or fake identification that he's having Baxby slip into the system past the people who varify it from falsehoods, just as an example.] He has to be unaware that what he's doing is anything less than a kind gesture of good will and a favour to a co-worker who is in an unfortunate hurry. It won't be until he's done this a couple of times and it's enough to put him away for a very long time that Everard could start using it as blackmail, and then Baxby's trapped.
The exact details, I trust, would be up to you, as you're the criminal, not I, but anything too obviously "do me a favour, eh? i'll make it up to later/hansomely *wink* " will send off warning signals, and he'll be suspicious. PM me when you think you've got a good idea on how to start this, and we can start a thread.
