It was a very, very rare thing -- a Thursday night off. Due to a scheduling conflict, he'd been rearranged so that a higher up could get his Friday off when he wanted, and so his weekly day off had been moved. It was a bit inconvenient, because that meant that his own plans had to be changed, but it also meant that on Thursday, he spent most of the evening asleep, and Friday morning he was up and about, chirping and cheerful. A Saturday morning of a similar sort would be spent at St. Mungo's, but this... this was a Friday. And Fridays were more... park-ish days. College students, folks with a three day weekend, children on field trips, vacationing visits -- wonderful crowds. So, this morning, instead of Artemius Baxby, Artie decided to be Ernie today.
Rowling Terrace was a quiet enough neighborhood, but the park was always busy with, at worst, retired wizards and bored housewives, but also the occasional jogger. And it was still only 8:30 when the clown arrived at the park. It took some meandering, but he finally found a well noticeable spot and set up. In his bag (charmed to be bigger on the inside) he had some juggling balls and clubs and a couple extra hats, some thumbtip tricks, some scarfs, a deck of cards... Heck, there was even a bag of balloons. He smirked as he rummaged about in it before finding the flag he wanted. He placed it in the ground and, with a little magic, had made a sign of sorts -- The Incredible Mr. Earnest Lee Klutz - Muggle Magicks. He pulled out a stool and leaned against it after pulling out a trio of simple juggling balls and juggled them to himself.
Ernie wore a simple jumper, of wine and parchment coloured stripes, a black, patched vest spilling over his large shoulders and down to his whitewashed jeans patched with tokens of travel; he had also a dusty black bowler hat, while his big, black boots perched themselves on the ground and white, fingerless gloves graced his palms as he tossed the balls through the air, the yellow, red and blue balls dazzling the eyes. His face was that of an auguste, with the area around his mouth and up to his cheeks were painted red, the lower lip black. A round red rubber nose was placed in the center, while white paint lifted from his eyes up his forehead, to painted on eyebrows of black as well, positioned in a constant state of bemused concentration. Steely grey eyes kept watch on the juggling balls but also on the paths around him. When he tired of the scenery in direction, he need on spin a little on his stool to see a fresh face of the park.
