The Black Lake

Care of Magical Creatures, an outdoors class, studies the life cycles of various magical creatures. Students learn to care for, feed, and manage the creatures, and also learn lore about them and how to use them (or parts of them) for magical purposes. This class is an elective.

The large and dark Forbidden Forest lies to the east of Hogwarts Castle. A variety of mysterious and dangerous creature roam the woods. Students are strictly prohibited from entering without permission.

The Quidditch Pitch
Nearby outside of the Hogwarts Castle, the large school Quidditch Pitch can be found. The house teams use the pitch for practice and games, but any gathering of students are free to play while it is vacant.

Hog's Head Pub
Located a block or so off High Street, the Hog's Head Inn has been a fixture of Hogsmeade for hundreds of years. A worn-out wooden sign hangs over the door, advertising with a "wild boar's severed head leaking blood onto the white cloth around it". It's known for its cheapness, at least relative to the Three Broomsticks down the street, and attracts a "shall we say... interesting clientele."

Honeyduke's Sweetshop
A sweetshop, which is filled with "shelves upon shelves of the most succulent-looking sweets imaginable". In addition to the standard wizarding candy that is sold there, the owners also make their own fudge and chocolate. For obvious reasons, the shop is quite a popular destination for Hogwarts students when visiting Hogsmeade on the weekends.

Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop
A small, cramped tea shop with decor on the tacky side of frilly (such as floating golden cherubs throwing pink confetti), located just off High Street. The only Hogwarts students who seem to patronize the place are trysting couples.

The Post Office
At least three hundred owls, from Great Grays to tiny Scops ("Local Deliveries Only"), wait to carry messages here. They sit on shelves that are color-coded, depending on how fast you want your letter to get to its destination. It is also referred to as an "owl office".

The Three Broomsticks
A well-known inn and a frequent haunt of Hogwarts students. It's warm and comfortable, is packed very often, and is a great spot to drink butterbeer, although they also serve firewhisky, gillywater, mulled mead, red currant rum, and even cherry syrup and soda with ice and an umbrella.

Zonko's
Zonko's is a favourite place for Hogwarts students to shop. They carry "jokes and tricks to fulfill even the wildest trickster's dreams," including Dungbombs, Hiccup Sweets, Frog Spawn Soap, and Nose-Biting Teacups.
