Woodland is the collective name of the lands where our characters reside. No one really knows its location on a map, or who might have created it, but it is home and that is all that really matters. Read the story of Woodland so far...
The lands had been unclaimed, untouched for many decades, and peacefully grew with tranquility. Plants thrived in the generous sunlight, and so the animals did as well, feeding off of one another and forever keeping the cycle of life spinning. All was calm and well within the woods, and any living being who found themselves within soon found a place and joined the cycle.
Then the Others came. They were animals, but at the same not, and defied the laws of nature set upon the land. They considered themselves stronger, superior than the other creatures, and began driving them out, making room for themselves and themselves alone. The balance was unsettled, but for the moment they took no notice. They had what they wanted: land, food, water. Their temporary contentment made them blind.
So things began to spin out of control for a while, the Others finding themselves losing the prey they once thought they had, using too much too quickly to satisfy their selfish needs. By the time they realized what had happened, it was too late. The animals had moved on, the plants began to grow wild and unkept, and people began to grow restless.
Being restless and in need of life's necessities, many moved on while a few remained, determined to make things work. Some of them stayed in a group, forming a small village nestled safely in the trees and well away from areas animals might return to. A few roamed as their animal selves, enticing those who left to return.
With time, they began to, and things began to fall into another cycle, different than the first, but steady like it had been. With things calming down and everyone trying to find their place, the land is falling again into a state of...
...Normalcy.
