We have a very slight difference in what I heard in the OST and what you heard in the CR, Sabsi. I'll have a relisten when I get to adding these lyrics to the CR webpage.
I tuo, i macil Astaldoron mauri nai Cor(ma) I tuo, i macil Á lelyat túrenna tuo The Forbidden Pool webpage These are the phonetic lyrics given to singers in the LOTR symphonies: Ee too aw ee mah ke-el stahl Dah rawn mow ree nye kawr Ee too aw ee mah keel ah lel yaht Too ren ee too ah You'll note they had 'too aw' then 'too aw' then 'too ah'. This kind of inconsistency was common. The same words were often phoneticized differently. Here's the Seduction Poem: I tuo, i macil Astaldoron mauri nai Corma macilya I tuo, i macil Á lelyat túrenna! There is only 'tuo' in the poem. Looking at it again, "too ren ee too ah" is just as likely (if not more) to be 'turen(na) I tuo' as 'turrena tuo'. Sigh... one more thing to change. |

I'm pretty sure about my time stamps (since it's my favourite theme I've listened to it many, many times
And I've listened to my recording of the Lord-of-the-Rings-Symphony (it's easier to get the time stamps from the singing of the symphony-choir than from the "real" choir on the CR-CDs...): the choir definitely sings "tuA" at the end! |

I think you're right about the 'i'... but there isn't a the word 'tua' in the given lyrics, is there? (I may have made a mistake...)
I don't think the choir was always given the correct phonetics to sing. I could actually give you all the phonetics. I got them from someone involved in the symphony. Another soundtrack fan from Croatia and I went over them pretty throughly and we found quite a few phonetic inconsistencies and mistakes. So... even if the choir is singing 'tua'... if they were supposed to be singing 'tuo', I would tend to stick with the correct word. (although I could be convinced to make a note about what we hear vs what is written. |

I know, there is no "tua" in the AS-Source text. But nontheless I think that the last word doesn't sound like the other two "tuo"s
I noticed the tuA during the symphony and thought the choir got it wrong, but know I'm pretty sure that I can hear tua on the (OST- and CR-)CD too. I think I'll skip this track for now - there is so much more to be done... |
