RESOLVED
C10 The Passing of Theoden 0:47 - (perhaps) 2:13 (end). The last note is held a long time. AS-ROTK: Chorus somberly intones “Death of a King” in Old English Of dreccunga, of dimnesse tó dæges úpgange Hé singende rád in sunnan, sweord bregdende Hé hyht eft onaelede and in hyhte geendode Ofer endunga, ofer ege, ofer orlæge úp áhafen Of lyre, of lífe, tó langum wuldre. Out of doubt, out of dark, to the days rising He rode singing in the sun, sword unsheathing. Hope he rekindled, and in hope ended; Over death, over dread, over doom lifted Out of loss, out of life, unto long glory. |

I put this in Audacity (sound editing program) and tried changing pitch, tempo, running filters on it, etc. Sometimes I identify consonants, sometimes vowels. This is what I came up with. I'm not sure of much and would like people to listen with a very judgmental ear... maybe even on their own before looking at my suggestion.
[00:47]O [00:50]fer [00:53]en [00:54]dun [01:00]ga, (ofer) [01:01]e [01:06]ge, (not entirely sure but I think I can hear a 'g') (ofer) [01:13]or [01:16]læ [01:19]ge [01:22]úp (á) [01:28]ha [01:30]fen [01:38]Of [01:41]ly [01:45]re, sometimes I wonder if the voices continue on but with some things I did to the sound, no evidence of voice was heard after the last sustained note of 're'. |
