Rider's Weyrs Built into the mountains themselves, Riders have individual weyrs and larger caverns for pairs. The larger weyrs are at the base, and the mainly empty Queen Weyrs are built just over the hatching sands, which can only be entered through guarded points.

Wher Rooms Built much lower into the mountains and adjacent to the lower caverns, the Wher Rooms are large enough for a pair of whers and humans, and each is split into two separate areas, one for the human and one for the wher, split by a thick dark curtain. The whers have their own separated hatching sands, smaller and kept always in darkness, and when occupied, it is always guarded.

Grounded Weyrs Large and spacious, these modified wher's rooms have been completely redone for the small contingent of Grounded amongst the larger group. Opening directly into the weyrbowl, there are obvious signs of construction everywhere.

Kitchens Built somewhat into the mountains, though not nearly as deep as most of the other rooms, the kitchens are split in two, one smaller cavern for regular eating, and one large cavern that can hold any amount of hatchlings or nearly everyone in the weyr for special occasions. There is food here day and night.

Underground Caverns The deepest and darkest caverns, close to the Wher Caverns, this vast series of tunnels and rooms hold everything that the weyr needs, and any surplus is put down and away here for protection. While a somewhat scary place, and somewhat damp since it is partially built underneath the lake, it is also interesting to explore.

Communal Hall One of the larger caverns throughout the weyr, this room is large enough to easily hold a gathering of hundreds. It echoes eerily with the small number of people in it now.

Candidates Barracks One of the few things easily accessible without dragons, the Candidate Barracks are built up a slight rise, away from the lake. They consist of two long caverns, one for boys and one for girls, and has a tunnel leading into the mountain itself and opening up to a small cavern before they can enter the Hatching Sands, though this room is blocked and guarded when the Hatchings aren't going on.

Training Halls Where all the students of the Weyr live, weyrlings, grounders, and wherlings alike. Barracks have been constructed for each, all separated into various levels, and all open into another large cavern. This cavern has both a teaching area and a training area.

Hatching Sands Easily accessible only from the Queen's caverns since it is built so deep into the mountain itself, it can also be reached by two entryways, both usually shut whenever a Queen is on the sands, large boulders blocking each entrance. But there is supposedly small other caverns that enter onto the sands, and it is always a candidate's dreams to find these entries and sneak peaks at the clutch. The sands are golden, heated, and sifted often to always be fresh.

Abandoned Weyrs Several abandoned weyrs dot across the north, and many are still filled with everything left behind, including the bones of dragons and humans. Many are now homes to wild whers or other wild and fierce beasts. One weyr in particular is avoided, Tuatha.

Open Plains Vast, open spaces cover the land, dotted only by the abandoned weyrs and hold. Wild whers and dog packs roam this area, as well as bandits trying to eek out their life. Caravans travel constantly across this open area, though their lives will soon be changed by the arrival of Threadfall.

Barrier Hold Set about two miles away from the weyr itself, Barrier Hold has sprung up with most people brought from Hyacinthe, and while still small, people from all over the North are flocking to this new Hold for protection.

Lesharn Hold A bit further out than its sister hold, Barrier, Lesharn lies deep in the mountains, mostly protected by the tough surrounding terrain. A small group of the Hyacinthe Holders took up this abandoned hold to continue the mining of ores, gems, and firestone. It is a rougher hold, with less ameneties and a harder way of life than Barrier, but its people are proud and loyal.
