Henry squealed when I told him about Nathan coming to visit, because I know my son adores him. Though only five, Henry believes that every cop, fireman and Marine is a superhero. I put him in his favorite warm clothes then took him out to the SUV I drove, startled when I found Nathan parked outside. “I was going to see if you were at the church,” I said as I got Henry into the car before approaching my ex. “Would you just want to ride with us there?” As I spoke, I adjusted my sunglasses until they rested a little ways down my nose so I could look him in the eyes.

Nathan Smiled and stepped out of his car. He looked at Harley.

"Sure, I'd love to as long as I'm not imposing."

I walked towards her car and watched as she strapped pur son into the carseat in the backseat. She gotr into the driver's seat while I got into the passenger's seat. I looked over at her and smiled.

"I was on my way to the church but I figured I'd stop by to see how you are and see if I could spend some time with you & Henry. I figured you could the company."

Nathan smiled and stepped out of his car. He looked at me. “Sure, I’d love to as long as I’m not imposing.” He walked towards my car and watched as I strapped our son into the car seat in the backseat of the SUV. I got into the driver’s seat after gently slamming the back door shut while he got in opposite of me. He looked over at me and smiled again. “I was on my way to the church but I figured I’d stop by to see how you are and see if I could spend some time with you and Henry. I figured you could use the company.”

“Nathan, you are not imposing…not in the least,” I replied, giving him a soft smile as I brushed some hair that had gotten loose out of my face. “And I was going to call you before I left but I had to get both me and Henry ready, so I didn’t get time. We’re on our way to a memorial service being held for my brother at the Queen of Angels Church.”

Nathan was glad that harley wanted him to be with her today. He was glad he stopped by her house. He didn't think she should have to sit through the memorial by herself.

"I'm glad i decided to stop by and see you and Henry today"

He took out his phone and sent a quick text to Logan saying that he'd see him later at the station. He put his phone away and looked at Harley.

"I'm sorry for your loss. I want you to know that I'm here for you and Henry. Whatever you need, let me know."

I’m sure Nathan was glad that I wanted him to be with me today, and I also know he was glad he stopped by my house. He didn’t think I should have to sit through the memorial by myself. “I’m glad I decided to stop by and see you & Henry today,” he said, and as I put the car in reverse – glad that Nathan parked on the curb so I could get out easier – I noticed him take out his phone and send a quick text message to Logan, saying that he’d see him later at the station. Then he put his phone away and looked at me. “I’m sorry for your loss. I want you to know that I’m here for you and Henry. Whatever you need, Harley, just let me know.”

“Thank you, Nathan. Harrison and I might not have gotten along in the last few years, but he was still my brother, and now, I have to make sure justice is served,” I told him, reaching for his hand, to have his reassurance.

Nathan took hold of her hand and gave it a light squeeze. He planned on helping her get justice for Harrison. He glanced over his shoulder and looked at his son. Henry was fast asleep in the back seat. nathan smiled then looked at Harley.

"I don't have to go in to the station until later. After the memorial, hows about I take you and Henry out for Ice Cream or wherever you wanna go. My treat."

Nathan took hold of my hand and gave it a light squeeze. I know he planned on helping me get justice for Harrison. He glanced over his shoulder and looked at our son. I’m sure that Henry had fallen fast asleep in the backseat. Nathan smiled then looked at me. “I don’t have to go into the station until later. After the memorial, how’s about I take you and Henry out for ice cream or wherever you wanna go, my treat?”

“Sure, that sounds like fun. And you know, you have the night off. Logan, Cooper and some of the other detectives are doing a family dinner thing,” I told him as I pulled into the church’s parking lot and found a decent spot.

For the minute Nathan forgot he had the night off. He was so focused on being here for Harley and Henry that he forgot that Logan, Coop and some of eh other detectives were doing a family dinner thing. He looked at Harley.

"That's right. I forgot all that. I was more concerned with how you and Henry were going to be after today that it must have slipped my mind."

He watched as Harley pulled into the spot and shut the engine off. He could see how tense she was. He took her hand in his and lightly squeezed, reassuring her that he was there for her and Henry.[/Color]

Nathan gout of the car and closed the door. He opened the back door and unbuckled Henry from his seat. He lifted his son into his arms and took out of the car. he closed the back door and walked around the front of the car to wait for Harley. He put Henry down and took hold of his hand. He held his hand out to Harley and looked at her.

"Ready?"

Nathan got out of the car and closed the door. He opened the back one and unbuckled Henry from his seat. He lifted our son into his arms and took him out of the car then closed the door once again and walked around the front to wait for me. He put Henry down and took hold of his hand. I had been so focused on getting the rest of me ready but instead turned it onto my ex and our son. “Ready?” Nathan asked as he held his hand out to me.

“Yes. Let’s go in,” I replied, giving him a soft smile as I moved to stand on the other side of Henry. I wasn’t trying to put space between us, but I know that my son would prefer to have both of us holding his hands.

“Yes. Let’s go in,” Harley ssid, taking our son's other hand.

Nathan knew Harley wasn't trying to be distant from him. He know what to knew Henry wanted to hold both their hands. They walked towards the church in silence. Nathan, at this point, didn't know what to say. he didn't want to say something that could end up upsetting Harley or Henry.

When we got inside the church, I immediately spotted my mother. “Mom, hey, you remember Nathan Scott,” I said after embracing her with one hand.

“Yes. Nice to see you again, Nathan,” she replied, reaching out and shaking his hand.

Nathan decided that Harley and her mom needed a few minutes alone to talk. He looked at Harley.

"Why don't you and your mom talk for a bit. I'll take Henry and find our seats"

“Nice to see you too. I'm sorry for your loss,” Nathan said. Knowing my ex, he decided that I needed some time with my mom so we could talk alone. He looked at me. “Why don’t you and your mom talk for a bit? I’ll take Henry and find our seats.”

I nodded. “You’ve been wonderful, Nathan. Thank you for being with us,” I told him.
