Title: The Paris Run-In (Alexander)

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - April 16, 2012 01:10 PM (GMT)
I told Cooper and my dad & step-mom two different stories. I told my husband that I was going to visit my family in Paris, but then I told Olivia that I was going there for a nurses’ conference. But really, it was an opportunity to seek solace for a few days while Cooper and I figured out where we stood in our marriage. I stayed in my hotel room when I wasn’t at the conference or visiting my family – keeping my word on that. I’d been watching a romantic comedy while working on some stuff for the kids when I went home when the knock came. I quickly put aside the stuff I was working on and got up to answer the door. “Alexander,” I said breathlessly when I found him on the other side. “What brings you to Paris?”

Alexander Barrett - April 17, 2012 01:39 AM (GMT)
The shocked look on Serena's face caused him to grin at her. He propped against the door frame, looking at her. "I'm here on business actually. What about you?" He looked her over a little and she looked good like she always did. "Sorry to intrude on you like this. I heard the desk clerk say your name and I thought you and Coop were here together and figured I'd stop by and say hello. Since I was here too."

The shocked look on my face caused him to grin at me. He propped against the door frame, looking at me. “I'm here on business actually. What about you?” He looked me over a little and I know he thought I looked good like I always did. “Sorry to intrude on you like this. I heard the desk clerk say your name and I thought you and Coop were here together and figured I'd stop by and say hello. Since I was here too.”

I laughed softly. “Actually, I’m here for a medical/nurses’ conference and to visit my dad and step-mom, who moved here at the beginning of the year to get away from all the chaos that is Port Charles,” I replied.

Alexander Barrett - April 17, 2012 11:48 PM (GMT)
"Oh. I see." Alex said after learning that she was in Paris alone but because of work and family related stuff. He nodded his head. "How is Coop doing anyway? He must be a little better for you to be able to go to this conference?"

“Oh. I see,” Alex said after learning that I was in Paris alone but because of work and family-related stuff. He nodded his head. “How is Cooper doing anyway? He must be a little better for you to be able to go this conference?”

I shook my head with a smile. “Actually, he only knows that I’m here visiting my family,” I replied. “Why don’t you come in and I’ll order us some dinner?”

Alexander Barrett - April 20, 2012 06:40 PM (GMT)
Alex was a little surprised by her offer considering she was the one that said that they should keep their distance from each other after what had happened between them. So at the offer, Alex hesitated for several moments. He tried of thinking of a good reason why he shouldn't but nothing came to mind as quickly as he had hoped it would. Instead, he nodded his head yes to her. "Are you sure I won't be disturbing you or anything if I do?" He asked her politely.

I turned to go back into the suite, knowing that Alexander was a little surprised by my offer considering I was the one who said that we should keep our distance from each other after what had happened between us. I felt his deep breath and I knew he was hesitating for several moments. He probably tried thinking of a good reason why he shouldn’t but nothing probably came to mind as quickly as he had hoped it would. Instead I turned to look at him over my shoulder while I picked up the papers I’d had scattered on the bed in time to see him nodding his head yes to my question. “Are you sure I won’t be disturbing you or anything if I do?” he asked me politely.

“I’m always okay with you coming by. I know I said that we shouldn’t see each other, but this is Paris. Cooper can’t control who I see or who I don’t see,” I said as I moved back over and pulled him inside and closed the door behind him.

Alexander Barrett - April 21, 2012 05:57 AM (GMT)
Alex nodded as she pulled him into the room and closed the door behind them. "You are right but....with everything going on and what happened with us, ......" Alex wasn't sure how to finish that statement so he left it open for her to finish to see what she might say.

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - April 21, 2012 12:41 PM (GMT)
Alex nodded as I pulled him into the room and closed the door behind us. “You are right…but with everything going on and what happened with us,” he said and I looked up into his eyes. They held the uncertainty of not sure how to finish that statement and so he left it open for me to finish to see what I might say.

Moving over to him, I stood up on my tiptoes and gave him a soft kiss. I’d been prepared to pull back when I felt his rough, callused hand close around my arm and haul me back to him. I trembled a bit upon seeing the dark, stormy look in his eyes as he lowered his head to let his lips travel the length of my jaw and downward, to my neck and collarbone.

Alexander Barrett - April 22, 2012 04:18 AM (GMT)
Alexander had no clue why they were so attracted to one another. Especially when she was actually family by marriage to his own nephew. It was confusing and even though he had tried staying away from her, things just seemed to draw them back together. Why was that? Well he wasn't going to ponder it at the moment. Instead he allowed one of his hands to trail up her arm and into her hair. He tightened a handful in his hand but wasn't trying to hurt her as he kissed her passionately.

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - April 22, 2012 01:45 PM (GMT)
It was hard to figure out what attracted me to him in the first place, especially when I was actually family by marriage to his own nephew. It was confusing and even though both of us had tried staying away, things just seemed to draw us back together. Why was that? I wasn’t going to put any more thought into it, and I knew he wasn’t either. Instead I felt one of his hands trail up my arm and into my hair. He tightened a handful in his hand but I know he wasn’t trying to hurt me as he pulled my head back and kissed me passionately.

Backing us up, I pulled him with me onto the bed. “Make love to me and don’t hold back,” I whispered.

Alexander Barrett - April 22, 2012 11:20 PM (GMT)
Alex just looked at her silently for several moments as they landed on the bed by her own doing. He looked over her face, gauging her expression. He wanted to ask her something but the need to be with her won out over all other form of thoughts and so he ended up giving her her request.

Alex just looked at me silently for several moments as they landed on the bed by my own doing. He looked over my face, gauging her expression. He looked like he wanted to ask me something but the need to be with me won out over all other form of thoughts and so he ended up giving me my request.

Softly his fingers caressed ever so slowly over my clothed body, and I shuddered visibly underneath his gaze, feeling in complete control of my body.

Alexander Barrett - April 23, 2012 10:37 PM (GMT)
Alex's hands wandered down the the hem of her shirt. His fingers grazed against the skin underneath for several moments before guiding her shirt off of her body. He looked down at her bringing his mouth down to her own to kiss her passionately.

Alex's hands wandered down to the hem of my shirt. His fingers grazed against the skin underneath for several moments before guiding my shirt up and off of my body. He looked down at me bringing his mouth down to my own to kiss me passionately.

His caresses were tender but they held an aggression to them, and although they should have frightened me, they didn’t, for some reason or another. I pulled him closer, my hands exploring the width of his shoulders, which were hiding beneath the material of his shirt.

Alexander Barrett - April 24, 2012 05:25 AM (GMT)
Alex's hand trailed down her flat stomach slowly until his hand reached the top of her pants. His mouth moved from her lips to her neck, kissing softly against the skin as his hand began just unbuttoning the pants that she was wearing. He just couldn't understand why they kept ending up in this particular situation with each other.

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - April 24, 2012 06:30 PM (GMT)
It was hard to resist my attraction to him, especially when Alex’s hand trailed down my flat stomach slowly until his hand reached the top of my pants. I gasped out his name as his mouth moved from mine to my neck, kissing softly against the skin as his hand began just unbuttoning the pants I was wearing in a teasing manner. It was hard to understand why we kept ending up in this particular situation with each other.

Finally, I took control. Pushing him firmly but gently, I moved until he was underneath me. “My turn to steer,” I said with a teasing smile as I began to unbutton the shirt he wore as slowly as possible and probably driving him crazy with need.

Alexander Barrett - April 25, 2012 12:44 AM (GMT)
Alex laughed a little when she pushed him down and made sure that she was on top finally. He stared at her as she began slowly unbuttoning his shirt. While she was doing that, he caressed her arms with both of his hands.

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - April 25, 2012 12:58 PM (GMT)
I could feel the vibration of his laugh when I pushed him down and made sure that I was on top finally. He stared at me as I began slowly unbuttoning his shirt. While I was doing that, he caressed my arms with both of his hands. Once his shirt was gone, I let my hands caress the skin I’d exposed. “Are you a gym sort of guy or do you run, walk or jog?” I asked softly as I stood up on the bed to remove my pants.

Alexander Barrett - April 26, 2012 07:21 AM (GMT)
"I prefer the gym but I'll run when I can." Alex told her as he turned onto his side and watched as she began working on removing her pants. He watched her every movement.

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - April 26, 2012 01:32 PM (GMT)
“I prefer the gym but I’ll run when I can,” Alex told me as he turned onto his side and watched as I began working on removing my pants. He watched my every movement.

I nodded, and once my pants were gone, I moved back onto the bed with him. “What else do you do to keep in shape?” I asked after giving him a quick peck on the lips.

Alexander Barrett - April 28, 2012 11:30 PM (GMT)
Alex couldn't help but laugh at the way the questioning was going from Serena. It was funny but also made him curious if she was talking about silly things like his work out routine simply because she was having second thoughts about what they were doing. He turned to her, looking her in the eyes. "Why do you keep asking me about my work out routines? Are you having second thoughts? We don't have to do anything, Serena. I can just put my clothes back on and walk out of the room."

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - April 29, 2012 01:34 AM (GMT)
I realized I was turning it into an inquiry session and I groaned and rolled away from him but still listening as he spoke. “Why do you keep asking me about my work-out routines? Are you having second thoughts? We don’t have to do anything, Serena. I can just put my clothes back on and walk out of the room.”

He seemed like he was prepared to do that but I grabbed his wrist to keep him from leaving. “No. Stay, please…I guess my curiosity came from the woman who carried me for 9 months, and I am allowing it to overtake me right now,” I said. I shook my head then jumped at the loud boom outside. I looked over to see that it had started raining, and smiled, moving over to watch the ‘show’ outside.

Alexander Barrett - April 29, 2012 07:50 AM (GMT)
"Don't ever be ashamed of your curiosity. It's a wonderful thing to have." Alex said with a smile. The boom had startled him too but quickly realized what it had been. He watched Serena get up and go look out the window. Alex followed behind her a couple moments later.

“Don’t ever be ashamed of your curiosity. It’s a wonderful thing to have,” Alex said with a smile. The boom had probably startled him too but he quickly realized what it had been. He was probably watching as I got up and went to look out the window. I felt his presence behind me a few moments later and I turned to look at him, the lightning illuminating our faces.

“As a child, this kind of weather used to terrify me out of my wits. But now…now, I find it breathtaking and kind of strong. You remind me of it a little,” I said as I settled my hands onto his bare chest. “With your physical strength, I feel like you might empower me, tear me down, but you remind me of a thunderstorm…you’re rough but you have a gentle nature to you.”

Alexander Barrett - April 30, 2012 01:08 AM (GMT)
"Well, I can't say I have ever been compared to a thunderstorm but actually I kind of like it. Thank you." Alex smiled at her and placed his hand over one of hers that was resting against his chest now. Slowly his smile faded though and he became serious as he looked at her. "Serena...." He paused briefly as a clap of thunder was heard once again. "We need to figure this out between us. I know you love Coop and I know you aren't going to leave him. So, what are we doing?"

Thank you.” I watched as Alex smiled at me and place hand over one of mine that was resting against his chest now. Slowly his smile faded though and he became serious as he looked at me. “Serena…” He paused briefly as a clap of thunder was heard once again. “We need to figure this out between us. I know you love Cooper and I know you aren’t going to leave him. So, what are we doing?”

I sighed. “You’re right; I’m not going to leave him. But the love I have for him is different from what I’m feeling for you right now, Alexander. I’ve loved him since I was a teenager, and sure, we’ve overcome our obstacles, but I’m an adult with children,” I started, jolting slightly when the lightning split the sky. “I had always known I would be his bride someday but I think that dream has died. I don’t care if this…thing between us is going to damage it even further, I don’t want it to end…ever.”

Alexander Barrett - April 30, 2012 09:09 PM (GMT)
"That's a little lopsided and cruel isn't it?" Alex asked as he turned around to face Serena. He crossed his arms over his board chest. "You won't leave him but you don't care if this affair damages your marriage even further? How is that fair to anyone involved especially Coop?" Alex knew he had some sort of feelings for Serena but he also knew that he was hurting Coop even if her husband was unaware of it. The fact that he was his uncle was going to be enough to shatter the guy. "I think you know your marriage is over but you can't let go of it and this is your way of acting out against what you already know and don't know how to deal with."

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - April 30, 2012 09:41 PM (GMT)
“That’s a little lopsided and cruel, isn’t it?” Alex asked as he turned away then turned back to face me. He crossed his arms over his broad chest. “You won’t leave him but you don’t care if this affair damages your marriage even further? How is that fair to anyone involved especially Cooper?” I couldn’t stop the feelings that were suddenly creeping up beneath the love I had for Cooper but if it meant hurting my marriage, I suddenly didn’t care anymore. “I think you know your marriage is over but you can’t let got of it and this is your way of acting out against what you already knew and don’t know how to deal with.”

“Fine, you want me to end my marriage?! Because that is what I’m doing, Alexander,” I said as I collapsed onto the floor in sobs. “By sleeping with you, I’m tearing my marriage apart and by allowing myself to fall for you, my husband’s uncle.” I didn’t feel anything when my head slammed back against the wall as I wiped away the tears that fell. I looked over at him when he knelt down and looked like he wanted to help me up. “I know I’ve fallen out of love with my husband and given in to my attraction to you, Alexander. You bring out a freedom in me that I haven’t had in years.” I cried into my knees when I drew them up to my chest and laid my head down on them. My voice was muffled but I spoke with a clear conscience. “Please don’t ask me to try and work on my marriage, I feel trapped if I go back there.”

Alexander Barrett - April 30, 2012 09:57 PM (GMT)
"Serena...." Alex said as he sat down beside her and sighed. "I didn't mean to upset you. I only was trying to tell you that I know you don't want to hurt Coop further and having an affair at this particular time is just going to make it all worse. It's not fair to him and you shouldn't hurt him like this." Alex realized that what he was trying to say to her was coming out all wrong. "I don't want you to end your marriage if the marriage isn't over for you and him. If it is over, just stalling it and drawing it out and having an affair, is just going to make you feel worse in the end. Coop too. I'm sure he already suspects something is going on with you, right?"

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - May 1, 2012 12:03 AM (GMT)
“Serena…” Alex said as he sat down beside me and sighed. “I didn’t mean to upset you. I was only trying to tell you that I know you don’t want to hurt Cooper further and having an affair at this particular time is just going to make it all worse. It’s not fair to him or anyone else and you shouldn’t hurt him like this.” I knew what he was saying is what I needed to hear. “I don’t want you to end your marriage if the marriage isn’t over for you and him. If it is over, just stalling it out and drawing it out into a long battle and having an affair is just going to make you feel worse in the end. Cooper too. I’m sure he already suspects something is going on with you, right?”

I shook my head. “He doesn’t know anything, Alexander. He has lost most of our time together, even the family we made. Oh, god, I think I’m going to be sick,” I said as I got up and ran into the bathroom.

Alexander Barrett - May 1, 2012 12:52 AM (GMT)
Before he had any time to say anything to what she had just said, Serena got up and ran to the bathroom. He scrambled to his feet and stood outside the bathroom door. He wasn't going to barge in and bother her. Instead he put his pants on, grabbed her something to drink and headed back to the door. He tapped lightly. "Are you alright, Serena?"

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - May 1, 2012 02:05 PM (GMT)
I heard him moving around on the other side of the closed door before I heard the light tap on the door. “Are you alright, Serena?” I heard him ask.

I opened the door to find his sympathetic smile. “I think it was something I ate,” I said as I accepted the glass he held out to me.

Alexander Barrett - May 2, 2012 04:19 AM (GMT)
"My upsetting you didn't help either. I'm sorry." Alex said, apologizing to her. He hadn't truly meant to upset her though. He just wanted her to know how he was feeling about the whole situation. After helping her sit back down, he disappeared into the bathroom and returned a moment later with a wet wash cloth for her. "Is this the first time this has happened lately? Do you think you might have a bug or something?"

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - May 2, 2012 01:09 PM (GMT)
“My upsetting you didn’t help either. I’m sorry,” Alex said, apologizing to me. I know he hadn’t truly meant to upset me though. I know he just wanted me to know how he was feeling about the whole situation. After helping me sit back down, he disappeared back into the bathroom and returned a moment later with a wet washcloth for me. “Is the first time this has happened lately? Do you think you might have a bug or something?”

“I’m a qualified nurse. If it was the flu, I’d be giving it to you, and I’m also a mother,” I replied softly as I laid back into the pillows.

Alexander Barrett - May 4, 2012 01:26 AM (GMT)
Alex threw his hands up defensive like. "Don't shoot. I'm just trying to help." After saying this, noting that she crashed back onto the bed, he moved to the chair and took a seat. Grabbing his shirt, he pulled it back on but didn't button it up or anything. "What can I do to help? Something I can go out and get you or order you something from room service for your stomach?"

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - May 4, 2012 12:38 PM (GMT)
Alex threw his hands up in a defensive manner. “Don’t shoot. I’m just trying to help.” After saying this he probably noticed that I crashed back onto the bed, he moved to the chair and took a seat. I looked over to see him grabbing his shirt and pull it back on but left it unbuttoned. “What can I do to help? Something I can go out and get you or order you something from room service for your stomach?”

I nodded. “Room service; ask if they have any saltine crackers, they always help with an upset stomach,” I replied.

Alexander Barrett - May 4, 2012 10:13 PM (GMT)
"Sure thing." Alex said as he once again got to his feet. While walking over to the phone, a thought occurred to him. The whole upset stomach and saltine crackers deal made him wonder if Serena was pregnant. Was she? Could she be? He shook his head. It wasn't his place to ask her anyway. So he dialed down to the front desk and began ordering some crackers, water and tea with sugar and lemon before turning back to her. "It should be up in a couple of minutes."

Serena Baldwin-Barrett - May 6, 2012 01:58 PM (GMT)
“Sure thing,” Alex said as he once again got to his feet. I could see the wheels turning in his head as he walked over to the phone but whatever he had been thinking about he shook it off and dialed down to the front desk and began ordering some crackers, water and tea with sugar and lemon before turning back to me. “It should be up in a couple of minutes.”

I nodded and settled under the covers. “While we’re waiting, why don’t you tell me what it’s like to have two sisters?” I said with a smile. “Did they pick on you? Or were you the troublemaker?”

Alexander Barrett - May 7, 2012 12:47 AM (GMT)
Alex shrugged a little. "Sometimes sure they picked on me. It was two against one. Girls can be really mean." He laughed slightly as he remembered his sister's ganging up on him from time to time. "Of course I always got them back whenever I could." After a few minutes of silent reflection, Alex looked directly at Serena and spoke. "So, what is wrong with you, Serena?" Alex was worried about Serena. He didn't want her sick and knew that there was a possibility that she had eaten some bad hotel food but there was also the chance that it was something else too. Seeing as she'd know because of her profession, he decided to get her opinion and thoughts on the subject while they waited for the items.
