Ira was lost again.
He knew he never should have taken that path he just noticed, now he was riding down a small street on the back of a beautiful Appaloosa and looking around in a bewildered manner. "I tell ya, Sophi, This doesnt look that good for us..." he muttered gently as he pulled slightly on the regins and his eyes half lidded ever so slightly. "We could always just go back the way we came..." He would have said more but the small group of kids looking at his horse in shock caused him to do a double-take, when did they get here? Why were they looking at Sophi like they had never seen a horse before. Must be city folk. he thought, and offered a weak smile. "'ello Y'all...." he muttered with a weak nod. Sophi took a few steps back and snorted. |

"And he won the world at a carnival... And the daylight was in his eyes. He could hardly see me.. But there was so much love in his heart. If he could, he'd kiss all the time."
Even as Alex came from the shops and down the street he was singing. No, no guitar accompanied him today. It was just him, singing to make the world a friendlier place. Nothing about him spoke anything other than friendly. From the faded fit jeans to the faded yellow short sleeve with a large peace sign all across the front, to his puppy-ish smile. Nothing about him was anything other than friendly. Up ahead him of a strange sight caught his eye. There was a man, on a horse. With a slightly faster skip in his step he took the distance between them, slowing only when he came slightly near the horse. He didn't want to spook the beautiful thing. "Hello," he said, eyes squinted as he smiled at the man, since the sun rested behind Ira's head. "It's not often you see a horse in the city, unless it's on a police officer. And you don't look like a cop..." he paused a moment. "Can I touch her? Will she spook?" He'd always had a way with animals, but even Lex knew his boundaries. |

At last, some one who asked before they touched, he nodded showing the other that yes it was ok and as the other touched Sophi he spoke.
"Ah, yeah, 'm not too sure 'ow I ended up 'ere....Ahme frum That that Grey Farm a few miles back I Guess..." he stated gently, "'at'll be the last time Ahe take a shurtcut...." he smiled lightly, "I'm Ira Greys, I own Grey Farm." he chucked lightly then let out a soft sigh. "Yer welcum ta come ta de farm and ride 'er if ya'll like..." |

Alex made no snicker or sarcastic grin as Ira spoke, like some might. He understood most of what Ira said, wondering how possible someone from New York could have such a strange accent. He gently stroked the horse as he listened, cooing softly to her.
"Grey Farms?" he piped up. "I got past there on my way home. I live in a town not too far out. I just come back here once in awhile to shop. Eh, I don't like the city much. Lived here my whole life, and it's never done me one bit of good," he said with a small smile. "I'd love life on a farm. Atleast, for awhile. I'd love all the animals." Coming away from Sophi, he held a hand up to Ira, "Nice meeting you Ira Grey. Alexzander Truchaea," he said, smiling sweetly to the other. |

Sophi uttered a snort and pawed at the ground, her head moving from side to side, Ira chuckled lightly and smiled back at the other.
"Pleased as punch ta meet'cha Alex, you want a job?" he asked softly, Sophi looked at him for a moment, as if she knew what he said, and she probably did. Ira just didnt offer a job to anyone, he had to know them and see how they worked around his animals....but this young man, there was something about him. "I could use the help, an the smarts ya'll got....." he stated in a gentle tone. "Ah'll pay you 9.00 an hour....." |

Alex smiled at the gracious offer. " Thank you. I've got a job," but it wasn't full time. "And the drive..." But it wasn't far. He paused and chewed on the inside of his cheek as he thought. "What would you have me do?" he asked, though he guessed it would just be the typical farmwork. Still, the offer was tempting. He'd get to be around all the animals; not to mention this really cute guy. Even though this really cute guy did speak funny. That really wasn't anything that bothered Lex.
"I'll talk to my brother about it. I live with him, and I don't know what he'd do without me being around to cook and clean, and do all those jobs house wives are supposed to do," he said with a small smile. "Want me to give you my phone number? So we can get into contact later?" |

Ira nodded slowly,
"That'd be nice..." he said softly and chuckled a bit, "That would be really nice...." he said softly. "You want a ride? I could give you a ride home..." Sophi shook her head and snorted and he chuckled lightly patting her neck gently. His eyes glittered slightly and he smiled a bit more and watched the other's features for a few moments. He was pretty. very very pretty. |

Alex seemed to be lost in his soft conversation with the horse. For his seventh birthday he'd asked for a pony. It was an improvement from the previous years, when he'd only asked for dolls. But now, the twinkle in his eyes brought him back to childhood wonder at the large creatures.
"I'd love a ride, actually," he said with a huge smile. He wasn't sure, but he could possibly be dreaming. A dude on a horse, offering him a ride. Yes, he was dreaming. "It's quite a ways to my house. Really, I can just take the bus. I don't want your horse to get tired," after saying it he realized how silly that sounded. "I don't want to cause you any trouble." |

He offered his hand to the other and with that hand a pretty smile and he chuckled lightly as he helped the other onto the horse in front of him, he had scooted back slightly and curled one arm around the other's waist and he smiled lightly, this felt nice and for a few moments he felt...right....he cleared his throat and then he murmured gently.
"Where to sugar?" he asked softly. |

"Just go back the way to the Farm. It's just farther down that road into town," he said, squirming slightly to readjust himself on the horse. Sure, it was a little uncomfortable at first. With a small smirk, he wondered if Ira had ever crushed his manly parts when sitting down up here.
However, when Ira's arm went around his waist, he felt as snug as a caterpillar all wrapped up in a caccoon. He placed both his hands over Ira's, watching Sophi's head rock back and forth gently. "How long have you owned the farm?" he asked. He'd never known who had built it, and he'd seen figures working there, but he couldn't honestly say he'd seen Ira. "You seem a little young for ownership. How old are you?" |
